Items and material possessions only get you so far, in my case I've been fairly wealthy, I've been homeless, and when I had nothing I found I was often happier than when I had much. Money can definitely help people in life, help them to better themselves, and to reach a point of satisfaction in their position in life. A lot of times counseling can be a big part of that which is obviously not free, general learning, education, but again that makes money a resource to help you reach this place, not the place you're trying to reach.
