I haven't seen the newer seasons but I never really thought otherwise, I doubt he's *really* been "into it" for years and years. Probably why the "last season" became such a dramatic edgefest.

It really wouldn't surprise me, Jon had some genuinley entertaining work in other places, but Arby n' the Chief is so famous it'd be tempting to not go back to it after a few failures, especially when Machinima or whoever is offering you a steady paycheck for it.
He should just go to Rooster Teeth, I don't watch it any more, but I know they have a pretty diverse range of shows now, he could probably get work there based on his reputation and relationship with the guys.

It's not half as edgy as season 7, and even though I really liked season 7 I'm glad the lighter tone of seasons 5 and 6 are back. It started out as a pretty gay 2001 parody before they resurrected, and while I think I know why Jon put that in there it felt way too long having like 7 episodes and literal hours worth of time dedicated to it, even if it was funny. The show picked up a lot once they came back. The most recent episode was one of the best in the series, I think.
He definitely made season 8 because he wasn't making money any other way, but he's been doing a good job with it. He's certainly not phoning it in, which I was expecting when I heard it was coming back.

I watched it a long time ago and I don't think I ever even watched all the episodes when I first watched it (I think I went up to like season 5). I'm only on S1E6 and these jokes are still making me chuckle/smile, what the fuck.
