Are the other two just as good are am I in for disappointment?

They're just as good
Some of my favorite films of all time. fuckin' magical really
Much better actually.
Before Sunset is just as good if not better. Before Midnight is good too, but kinda dour.
Sunset is amazing.
Midnight might be hard to watch if you’re emotionally immature
Celine is ice cold. The way she subtly shits on him and their relationship at the dinner party. Wew
sunset scares me that I might come across my soulmate and somehow fall out of connection. internet makes that less likely, but still...
all great
the second one is a great sequel to a romance film, but the third one was really garbage because they added overused film tropes about young love, arguments are good, etc. I think you should watch it after boyhood (if you haven't) makes more sense in that order.
is it just me or has it always been ethan who seemed more invested in the relationship? even in sunrise she rebuffs him a few times
just watch Before Sunset already
Yeah, I also noticed that Julie's character really hates the relationship because she wanted a richer man imo.
All three are great. It’s tragic watching the first with your romantic sentiments and seeing the logical and believable wreckage of the third.
The quality improves with each film
I've watched the final argument in Midnight like at least 5 times and I'm riveted every time
Before Noon when? Fuck that's gonna be bittersweet
yeah that end argument really shows you the reality of "love" bummed me out for sure.
I think they are slightly better.
women play hard to get. guys usually have to be the forward ones. when she "rebuffs him" in sunrise, it was more like teasing or seeing how much he cares. i think by the end of the first they were both crazy about each other.
they definitely were but by midnight she's over his shit, complaining about his immaturity, etc.
kinda funny how it's her holding onto idealized depictions of love that is what comes between them, when she always accuses of ethan of doing the same with his books. and what does he do? he tells it like it is at the end of midnight
I have an immense love for these movies because watching the first ten minutes of Sunrise caused a breakup with my gf of 4 years.
Yeah eventually in love you start to hate the tendencies of the other partner.
kek why
Because the magical feeling at the beginning of Sunrise was long gone, and barely ever existed.
It didn’t “cause” the breakup, but I literally stopped the movie ten minutes in because I knew we couldn’t handle it.
Sunrise inspired me to get back in touch with a girl with whom I actually did feel this feeling. good on you for that tho m8
I'm kind of hoping for a 4th to close it all out when they're old.
Before death would be a good title.
Before Noon, with noon representing (the light of) death and the spark nostalgically reuniting in old age
the second one is probably the best one, the third one ain't bad but ruins the entire thing,i'd skip it if i were you.
The first two are about romance. The third is about love/ marriage.
Just watch Haneke's Amour and pretend its them.
>that old sf skyline
fuck salesforce
fuck every yuppie in san fran.
enough time has passed since Before Midnight came out so linklater, hawke, and delpy may start brainstorming on the next one. hope they can add another meaningful movie to this series. im sure they would if they could, but they said it got harder and harder to do these films.
I've only seen sunset but I found the characters unlikeable and a bit pretentious, mainly ethan hawke's character.
