What the fuck was the point of this film, you guys told me it was kino but it felt like a waste of time...
you sound retarded LOL
btfo
^ this. OP confirmed for tard.
im just trying to justify why i took 2 hours out of my day to watch this. Though it was gonna leave me with some message about facing your fears or some crap but it just leaves you guessing.
>tfw youre btfo by some person on the internet
yeah but you idiots wont even explain anything to me you just say I got btfo for lulz
I believe the storm wasn’t real and the whole beach sequence was another dream in which the storms bigger than in the previous ones, however now his wife and kid see it as well. Indicating that they understand what he’s going through and he doesn’t fee like he has to face it alone. The storm being real just doesn’t make sense to me
thanks for reminding me I'm not retarded
>some message about facing your fears
You're a child, go back to Disney movies. Take Shelter is mostly a depiction of mental illness, some would argue the ending negates the theme of the movie but I personally don't believe that.
>being this mad
It warms my heart to see an unironic retard post like this
I've noticed when plebs consume media they can't understand, instead of accepting that they don't get it they tend to lash out with extreme hostility at the piece of media or other people who liked it. kind of interesting phenomena.
based
imagine being so low iq you think this movie was about a storm and not a harsh look at mental illness
convince me to watch this movie right now Sup Forums
based
yeah thats what I meant. the storm being his fear/possible illness and him not having the strength to deal with it alone. We see it makes his family suffer but even though its out of his control he does what he thinks is right, then at the end we're just left to figure it out for our selves. Did he actually have a mental illness? Was he just having premonitions? idk guess im retarded
>he doesn't care that the man is right all along
Don't you feel at least a little proud for him
You were given a possible explanation above
why are you so upset its just a movie
so what im gonna take away from this movie is that mental illness is unpredictable, it not only effects you but your loved ones, and even when you think you've fought past the worst it still leaves you guessing.
i havent smoked all day
/thread
The storm wasn't real, brainlet. It was another dream sequence, showing the man that his family supports him in his fight against the mental illness.
what? I assumed the storm was real because his daughter saw it first and even signed "storm" in sign language, and because his wife felt the rain. Maybe they only included these parts to show that the entire family is now fighting the struggle with him, instead of second guessing him.
just a brainlets thoughts
we'll never know
Even if I didn’t like this film, which is very far from true, I would still have felt as though my time were well spent because of the scenery.
It’s actually makes Ohio look beautiful.
i saw it as some new environmental disaster that was the beginning of sommething worse
You are fucking retarded.
i like this comparison
yeah I can agree with this, the scene with fireflies scattered throughout the field was nice
The storm wasn't real you mouthbreather, his wife seeing it too was just supposed to show that she understands what he's dealing with mentally.
The movie is propaganda for the psychiatry industry
This was actually shot a couple of towns over from me, literally shot in rural part of nigsville
It was also weird recognizing some extras in the movie
That twitter account is hilarious. great movie with a simple message op, fuck yourself.
I feel like Michael Shannon picks really weird ass movies to be in. Midnight Special was kind of uninspired hipster trash as well.
rural Ohio is beautiful. It's just the people that make it ass backwards. Can confirm, I'm from Oak Harbor, Ohio.
