Just watched this expecting some sort of masterpiece since it has 97% on RT and is considered "one of the best action movies ever." Well, it's alright. Best parts were when Tom Hardy spoke because he has a cool voice. The art direction was very creative. Otherwise, meh. 7/10, wouldn't watch twice.

You never saw it in theaters
same, it was garbage
Christ ya'll are retarded. This movie is a 10 and one of the best of the last decade.
i would say a nine but yeah i agree
Please. Very few movies are must-see theatre experiences. The only one of the top of my head that meets this description is Avatar. THAT was a an experience.
Besides, many of us have excellent set-ups at home and aren't exactly watching on our bloody laptops.
Yeah nah. It's good but not amazing
>This movie is a 10 and one of the best of the last decade.
The absolute state of Sup Forums
Unironically enjoyed it more watching on a TV with friends and beer. It's a flick, and a very very fun one.
the story falls apart if you think about it too much
That's true for the Mad Max universe
This. Fury Road was honestly the last movie I saw in theaters where I literally walked out thinking
>wow that was fucking awesome
Before that... Maybe Pacific Rim. Fury (the tank movie) was fun too.
It's all frontloaded. The beginning is fun, but the whole thing just keeps going and going and it's all the same shit. Two hours of constant spectacle is boring.
Make sense. They did storyboards before writing the story. The effects and action were the main character all along.
This. It's just another action flick.
>The only one of the top of my head that meets this description is Avatar
That explains a lot then because Avatar is pure shit
WITNESS
The terrible characters make it go from an 8/10 to a 6/10
You can think it's shit all you want, it's was and remains a technical marvel. It's been nearly 10 years and still not one movie has approached it in terms of spectacle.
MUH SPECTACLE doesn't make for a good film user
I'm not arguing whether it was good or not. If you're capable of following the chain of posts, I'm responding the person who said I had to watch Mad Max in theatres to appreciate it, which is a load of shit. The only movie I can safely say was a theatre experience is Avatar, strictly because of the spectacle.
7/10 seems fair. You've got to stop believing RT, at least for modern movies, though.
>watching mad max on a tv or computer
Some movies are meant to be seen on the big screen, like Dunkirk or Bladerunner.
I have a great home theatre set up. I watched both Dunkirk and Bladerunner at home and thought both were fantastic. Mad Max simply wasn't.
This
>Best parts were when Tom Hardy spoke because he has a cool voice
How can you expect to be taken seriously posting shit like that?
>7/10
That's not a bad rating. I give it a 9/10 though.
I think everyone forgot this existed 3 months after it released
I don't understand the exceptionalism. They escaped and made a Uturn, lost most of their caravan, and reached salvation from whence they left. The "intimate" details in between did not make me invest any more than the surface. Idk, it felt abstract even thought the intention wasn't supposed to be that way
That's what you get for not knowing how to interpret rotten tomatoes. Fucking marvel movies get high nineties. High nineties only only tells you that people behind the movie are competent. As far as action flicks go Fury Road is alright though. 8/10
Wtf ABATAP where have you been?
>meh. 7/10, wouldn't watch twice.
It hurts knowing the new PR is going to have none of the charm or personality the first did
Gravity was breddy fun to watch on a theatre desu
yeah this movie is overrated crap. no mel gibson = no mad max.
it doesn't even feel like a mad max movie
>meh. 7/10, wouldn't watch twice.
I watched it twice for the action scenes desu. A few of the short character moments are good too. But otherwise I agree.
