No. It's not good. It's outstanding.

Yes

Dishonest

Yes

>Villeneuve movie
>good

Sorry I don’t play videogames and I am therefore not qualified to answer

Yeah its good, especially visually. The narrative does a good job of walking the Human/Replicant line like the original so some people might not like that. But yes, it's a good film.

interlnked

Yes but I didn't like it.

i need to watch it a second time, i didn't like it so much the first time, but it probably deserves a second chance because i keep thinking about it

Let me think.

Yes. It's the only movie I watch while my wife is getting fucked by her black boyfriend in the other room.

Yes

Good
>looks and sounds amazing
>wardrobe is on point
>the Goose is class
>Ford is pretty good

Bad
>storyline isn't terribly compelling, pretty standard
>some cheesy lines that don't seem to fit the cyberpunk theme
>Leto phones it in
>Not enough Batista

All in all a stylish film, but not as substantial as the original. Also
Love > Rachael

Its betterer than the first one for sure

pathetic

Visuals were great, but no.

Yes

Not at all. It's a dishonest flick genetically engineered to appeal to juvenile imdbspawn redditors with no sense of sophistication who laud pseudo visuals, which supports upvote groupthink mentality, and meme acting with a good movie pandering reddit tier "subversion entertainment" sensibilities and a wannabe classic aesthetic.

Yes its good. the fact that there are still a few contrarians out there that try to claim otherwise just makes it a double masterpiece. It tells an apocalyptic Pinocchio story really well and has fantastic set pieces that are largely done with practical effects

yes for the wrong reasons

H. Ford´s Rick Deckard is totally being played very stupid ironically in the world of bladerunner people who live in it become chickenheads people with decreased IQ which H Ford play it perfectly.

Yes

The same people who defended No Mans Sky, are defending this underwhelming turd.

Two, one for Best Visual Effects and one for Best Cinematography.
Was nominated in 5 categories.

Singlehandedly saving the entire sci-fi genre.

Yes.

No.

Yes. Haven't seen it yet.

Yes. Only roasties and psuedos hate it.

Yes. The only people that didn't like it were ashamed because they were literally too dumb for an action movie.

Yes

yes

its amazing. only SJW, contrarians and people with no attention span dislike this.

Yes
Only contrarians can hate it (and Villeneuve) and my friend that loves transformers movies but couldn't even watch the last one because it was too long
How can you hate on somebody single-handedly saving the sci-fi genre from pg-13 schlock like fucking ready player one or whatever
Sure he isnt fucking Kubrick, but he is literally the best there is right now

How did it do at the box office?

Yes. It is a great movie despite its flaws.

So far its literally 3:1 in like:dislike ratio, not considering double voting on either side
Who else hyped to see Dune divide people even more?
I for one cant wait to see people butthurt that others enjoy this Villeneuve kino get even more butthurt over people enjoying that Villeneuve soon-to-be kino (and box office flop)

Yes, a good movie but still nowhere near the original. Excellent for a sequel made so long after the original

This.

The context for the movie is kinda buried behind a few short videos which is kinda weird. Dennis doesn’t want to do any lengthy exposition in the movie movie so those short videos provide a lot of context for character and the world. At least those videos are released before the movie for free so you know they are part of the movie rather than shit like nu SW where they release tons of tie in comics or w/e to sell later.

I think the new Dune will be more widely regarded as kino here, as the original is pretty lacklustre. Most probably won't be a box office hit though

very bad.... sadly...

I've thought Sup Forums dislike BR2049, but most anons in this thread are positive about the movie. I'm surprised.

Sup Forums is not one person

Villeneuve didnt made any kino yet except Incendies. Rest his "films" are generic flicks general audience, and he is mediocre director.. Deakins is literally 75 % the reason why his films are highly regarded, because the directing, performances, sound of his movies is mediocre to bad.

When I said Sup Forums I meant the general opinion of the majority of anons.

It's okay.
Anyone telling you it is the worst or best movie ever is a retard you should ignore.

Well, look at modern Sup Forums - its reddit incarnate, spammed with shitty flicks like Star Wars, Blade Runner, Tomb Raider - so why you are suprised that part Sup Forums, the soyboy/reddit part like BR 2049?

No popular movies will be well regarded here as there will be a few contrarians. Dennis is too popular with normies now that any good movie from him will be popular enough and gain some contrarian hate. Dune also carries even more hype with it than BR2049 because nobody thought a sequel for BR can be good. BR2049 had a tons of red flags when it was announced but somehow everything turns out to be right

No, biggest disappointment last year.. People who likes it are fucking kids who masturbate to br2049 waifus, because there is nothing worthy in this film except waifus.

no

But it didnt turn good. Its one of the most forgettable movie of 2017. The only good thing about it is cinematography thanks to Deakins, but the cinematography was still underwhelming compared to original, every other aspect is better in Ridley Blade Runner.

>shills on Sup Forums
>1:20 like dislike ratio

protip: contrarian turboautists are very loud

no

Both films are great on their own merits, the new one isn't trying to "outdo" the original, it is a completely standalone film.
But in some departments the new one is most definitely better, for example the romantic subplot of K and his virtual waifu is ten times more genuinely emotionally investing and moving than the absolutely flat romance with non existent chemistry we got from Deckard and Rachel in the original. And K is a much better and more explored protagonist than the one note Deckard in the original.
This is pretty much a non disputable fact.

>the cinematography was still underwhelming compared to original
I blame a lot of that on the awful nonexistent score.

The minority of any given group of people is always the loudest group

yeah Enemy was such a generic everyday film right

Yes

>No, biggest disappointment last year.

Tell us which other movies you have seen last year, so that we can laugh.

Yes or No

The story held up though. I see no reason to hate the story unless you absolutely can't sympathize nor understand K's internal conflict. If people absolute miss that then I can see why they hate the movie because the movie solely revolve about that. The story Luv is also closely intertwine and mirror with K so if you don't like K's story then you can't really get Luv's neither. It's a bit different in original BR because there are more subplot for multiple characters so at least a few of them would catch people's attention and sympathy.

Sorry but not, even the romantic subplot was better in original.. Maybe because Decard and Rachel were played by better more charismatic actors? Or because these characters were better written, or because they were better directed? Idk, the whole romantic subplot in BR 2049 is one of the most overrated thing, mainly because the good CGI work. There is nothing emotional in it in terms of characters... Their relationship has 0 emotions. Villeneuve every movie has problem with creating emotions, his movies are dull and very cold. Also you cant compare original Blade Runner which was groundbreaking achievement in 1980s, to one of the most safe and without balls continuation. BR 2049 dont take any risk, there is nothing groundbreaking or new in BR2049... Original Blade Runner was big deal in 1980s, it was ahead of its time, it was groundbreaking.

No
Only soys actually likes this flick

you gotta have more than that user, mind dumping here?

Soy Runner 2049.

My favourite video game is Skyrim, and my favourite filmmakers are Christopher Nolan and Denis Villeneuve!!!

When I saw the movie in the theaters, I was left with two immediate impressions. First, it was too long. Second, it was visually stunning. After a second viewing, I found the length more tolerable but the plot remained boring. I have friends with Goose as their profile pic, saying how BR2049 is a masterpiece. It most certainly is not a masterpiece on any level as the story is mundane. Goose's performance was potato-like. He literally never changed his facial expression through the entire movie. He wasn't a replicant, he was a robot. Joi was cool, but boring, Luv and Decker were by far the best parts of the movie. Bautista got killed off way too early which is a shame because his character was compelling and interesting. There was absolutely nothing interesting in the slightest about K. Literally, he was potato wearing a long leather jacket.

I liked it but I still think the original is better

I don't think that the original BR's romance is that bad, but it is probably feels more dated due to the nature of romantic relationship in the modern day. It was a classic story of a man in depression finding passion for life again after witnessing the beauty of a woman. The woman being a replicant is just a little spice in that story. However, in modern day romantic movie carries a lot more pessimism. Many modern movies work to subvert that kind of classic romantic story like 500 days of summer and shit.

Yes

>i like soy but milk is better
