Watching Jimmy and Kim file papers for an hour sure is better than Walter and Jesse cooking meth, needing to sell the meth, try not to get murdered, and deal with family issues.

Way better, it's not even a comparison. If you strip away the witty one liners, the characters in breaking bad hardly truly engage with eachother. Wheras better call saul is the opposite- it's entirely about conflict between contrasting character dynamics.

It's main misstep was suggesting it was going to be a show about Saul. The first season fucked us around with Jimmy, but promised Saul right at the end. Then season 2 comes out, and then season 3 comes out, and we still have no "Saul".
I guess you can argue he's slowly becoming Saul, but apart from the pilot and a few glimpses here and there, BCS hasn't offered too much vintage pseudo jew lawyer hijinx.
Imo, they did it right. A show that's half Saul/half Mike is 100% memeshit, but the marketing was just disingenuous.
