I must ask how you think this is, considering they have an entire segment dedicated to QS in DoFP where he's able to beat up 5+ armed men and change the trajectory of bullets in the matter of a second, compared to MCU QS who regularly gets beaten up despite being superfast and dies from bullets.

This is the thing I will always find funny.

Quickslav being killed off was an insane mistake. It makes Wanda's development a cop out, it strips the team dynamic of a pivot character and takes the best speedster FX off of screens.

That being said Foxsilver shows up for like one scene, chews up 5 full minutes of runtime, and makes an otherwise forgettable movie at least somewhat memorable.

For what it is, that's pretty impressive.

Its on the AoU commentary. They were going to use Helen Chos magic healing science thing to bring him back or whatever. So it wouldnt have been such an asspull either.

He has no idea how to write suspense in a self contained story. He needs season cliff hangers to do that for him. I get his logic. He talked about seven samurai and I think the hobbit. The youngest ones die in those stories. He wanted the same thing to happen. He just made ultron such a boring hapless villain and the death was entirely tacked on. It was really disappointing the way it was done. Ultron seemed to like QS and wanda too, and he kills him on accident? Just......blah.

In Iron Man's case, they had to nerf him quite a bit in the first film by having his main power source in his suit be replaced with a much crappier one because the villain stole it

The theory was that they cut a deal with Fox since they both can use the twins. Marvel uses QS and kills him off so that they have SW while Fox has QS.

Peter is wildly overpowered, has pretty much no character, is bland as hell, and is nothing like Quicksilver in the comics.

Pietro is fast within reason (simply runs fast and has to recharge energy), is entertaining to see interact with the others, had a petty good actor and accent, and was a total fucking prick to everyone but his sister, who he loved above everything else.

There doesn't need to have been a "deal" because they were always going to do this.

MCU Quicksilver was poorly written and poorly acted. That fake accent was horrendous. Like most of the characters, he hardly had an arc. It was essentially just, "oh Ultron bad me good now ok."

Also, AoU fucking sucked. Great trailer though.

He had a better costume and more vibrant running effects. His powers weren't totally overpowered and didn't have people questioning whether it was super speed or time manipulation.
Quickass is just an original character with Quicksilver's name slapped on it.
Quickslav felt more in-character since he had Wanda to interact with.
The only downside to Quickslav is that his accent sucked and his death was shoehorned in.
