All KOTOR 1 has going for it is better level design and LucasArts actually let them finish the game

KOTOR 2 has better build variety, story, characters, combat, pretty much everything, it's just unfortunately unfinished but the only time it really shows is towards the ending

Bioware writing is just embarrassing though. So much more could have been done with the premise but they just waste it all on a twist anyone who isn't a child can see within like a hour of playing the game

Exile is canonically female, unfortunately. But the story is better to me if he is male. The son/mother thing works better with Kreia, Atris works better as a sexually repressed woman who loves the Exile, Handmaiden and Visas work as sexual tension with the exile.

Nothing against playing female but the sexual tension makes the Exile a better character in my opinion.

It's canon by Disney standards actually. EA still supports TORtanic and the books were written after the buyout. Also Republic Hammerhead ships have showed up in Rebels and Rogue One. KotOR is canon.

Restored content is worth it. It has some shit parts that should have never been included, but it has some great parts too. Generally in my opinion any story added scenes are good, but the gameplay parts that are generally added are garbage and were scrapped for good reason by Obsidian, but they're fairly short.

Just don't get the Droid planet, it's shit.
