Bump
Yellow and brown is best Wolverine
This guy knows what's up.
Horrendous art, top to bottom.
Why is that?
I mean it's the typical problem of the late 80's/early 90's "bad boy" artists: inefficient/excessive linework, lumpy forms/poor anatomy, bad composition, etc.
Love this time period, thanks for storytime
Wolverine just walking away is maybe the most badass thing he's done.
Thanks, OP.
He's certainly got balls for turning his back on the Hulk.
Eh, it makes the Hulk look more monstrous.
Dude, they had 4 colors back then. The line art was compensatory. Actually more technically challenging than today where you can just draw an outline and the colorist will make the details.
McFarlane admitted himself he wasn't a great anatomist, and I'm ok with that. But his composition and storytelling is actually fine. He's no Liefeld. Hes a lot closer to Art Adams, who all those guys were trying to cop. People love criticising early 90s art but Adams was (and still is) great
>McFarlane admitted himself he wasn't a great anatomist
There you go. Of course that's an "extreme" example, one of the indulgences of 90s art. But almost all superhero art has exaggerated perspective and physical proportions. They just went a little overboard. But it was fun, Jesus christ
