Am I wrong in thinking this is shit?

No you're not wrong. Some people think it's good right now because some Mike scenes are kinda comfy to watch, even though there's nowhere for his story to go. But it's clear to me that they have no idea how to progress the show, and 6 years from now the show will be a laughing stock

nope, it's absolute trash. watch counterpart if you actually want something good

direct prequels are so rarely anything but shit

> some Mike scenes are kinda comfy to watch
These and the drug cartel scenes are literally the only ones I watch now and I'm on season 3 I really stopped giving a shit about Jimmy's law firm faggotry with his girfriend and brother who the fuck came up with having all these retarded unconected storylines running for so long?

yes

>literally nothing happens in all of the seasons
The show drags scenes out for so fucking long and it all ends up being pointless. The show should just be about Mike because he is really the most exciting part.

Its great. You're just a brainlet.

Jesus Christ there are some plebs ITT
Mike's storyline is just "diet Breaking Bad" and gets in the way of Jimmy's narrative which is some of the most kino work in modern television.

explain why it's great

it's the best thing on tv but this board is full of cockslurping faggots that hate anything good

so you'd rather this show cut mike entirely? lmao, pathetic. take out mike and all that is left is boring slice of life tier bullshit.

I never said I'd cut Mike, I'm just firmly of the opinion that his thread is inferior to Jimmy's.

explain why it's inferior

BCS is the Sopranos with a filmatographic mastermind directing it.

$0.05 has been deposited in your account

what the fuck is this fucking post mate you need to sit down and have a glass of water

It has its moments.

omg that scene with jimmy and kim cleaning the office. 100% KINO

All of this.

It's extremely boring. And not in the "you just don't get it" sort of way, episodes go by where nothing happens at all.

It reminds me of the Hobbit, which as a prequel to Lord of the Rings was much smaller both in physical length and in the scale of the story, tried to emulate it by turning a short children's book about adventure into a 12 hour long trilogy of full blown epic fantasy.

Better Call Saul is about Saul Goodman as a straight lawyer, Jimmy McGill. And over the course of a few seasons evolves into the morally questionable character we see in Breaking Bad. BCS, like the Hobbit, attempts to cash in on the success of the original by emulating it. The problem of course is that one show is about meth empires, and another is about law firms. You simply cannot tell an engaging story on that level when a majority of scenes take place in a boardroom.

Mike does bring a criminal element into BCS, but other than very, very slowly maneuvering him into a position of being an associate of Saul, most of his storyline is utterly pointless.

If the show was short, say one season, I think it would be a lot better.

Because the Jimmy story has greater depth of character, better acting from the supporting cast, better visual storytelling (sometimes flashy, sometimes restrained), more emotionally raw as opposed to the Mike stuff which is too often set on "badass" mode, greater variety and mix of tone, less reliant on BB lore, i.e. less predictable
Again, it's not that I think Mike's stuff should be cut all together. I prefer the dual narrative structure to what we got in Breaking Bad. It provides a nice contrast.

it has a very small plot and they don't know how to fill the episodes to make them longer
the seasons should be 5 episodes each

Bedder Carl soul doesn't hab enuff acgtion eeegggggf

all you said is true, except for
>And over the course of a few seasons evolves into the morally questionable character we see in Breaking Bad.
that never happens. at the beginning of season 1 he is a good guy, at the end of season 3 we learnd about his shady past, but he is still a good guy and nothing like the Saul from Breaking Bad

i don't remember which season was, 2 or 3, where he tricks an old lady, he feels bad about it but he gains a lot from that scam... at the end of the season he gives up and tell the truth to the old lady (or fixes it somehow, losing all the profit)... when that shouldn't happen, he should trick him and deveolp into a scumbag

It should have even less action, piece of shit show.

Just be patient motherfucker, Jimmy's on the way down.

>depth of character
my brother is mean to me and i do scummy things but i consider myself a good guy. that's what you call depth? this is sitcom tier depth.

>better visual storytelling
there is barely any visual storytelling in saul scenes. mike scenes are the visual storytelling scenes.

You're deliberately reducing the Jimmy / Chuck relationship to such a simplified degree, to the point where it's not even basically accurate.
Also, you'll see visual storytelling in literally every Jimmy scene—pay notice to colour, lighting, blocking, set design, everything. And yes, that stuff is present in Mike's scenes as well, but it's way more creative in the Jimmy stuff.

>at the beginning of season 1 he is a good guy, at the end of season 3 we learnd about his shady past, but he is still a good guy and nothing like the Saul from Breaking Bad

uh, no, we learn about his slippin jimmy shit in season 1. how is he nothing like saul from breaking bad? all saul does in breaking bad is scummy lawyer stuff, the same shit he's doing in BCS

only if you think Breaking Bad is good

how is that not accurate? that is exactly what their relationship is. jimmy takes shortcuts and does scummy things while believing that he's still a good guy, and chuck realizes jimmy is just a dirtbag so he treats him like one. i really don't know what to say if you actually find this relationship that interesting, i think you need to read more books and watch more movies/tv shows

Remember-
Mike and Gus stuff- Reddit
Law kino- Sup Forums

Big fan of the show in general, but I completely agree. It's nice having a good Breaking Bad-themed distraction around, but Mike is easily the biggest draw, and Jimmy scamming people and Kim being a hit-the-bricks lawyer slows the while show down.
I'll still watch.

Fans of this show can never explain why it's good. They only use defense mechanisms like "you're a brainlet" or "it's just a slow burn" to justify it and act like they have some authority. Better Call Saul is the Rick and Morty of television dramas, in a way.

it's just retard 16 year old Sup Forums mentality that anything and everything slow is automatically good.

You just know they are going to have a fallout between them or something bad happen to Jimmy's gf as a catalyst for him becoming Saul. It's going to be completely predictable dumb shit.

It's like a prelude to Falling Down. Most people would rather just watch Falling Down cause it appeals to ADHD tards.
