That's the bullshit story to used to kill the space program. There were much more people, and there has been since then. What got to the space program was lack of funding, terrible management, and few bachelor programs directed to the area.

This is something you need to figure out by yourself. There are many ways to get out legally, but the most important is: you must go to a country where you are able to assimilate. That is, you need to properly speak their language, embrace their traditions, avoid grouping with Brazilians etc. But again, my point here is: don't make your life miserable staying in Brazil. Many countries would profit by receiving people with your mindset and ancestry.

The great thing that brought our program down was the lack of structure, the entire thing, since we were starting from zero. Launchpads, control center, warehouses. Instead of building everything on our own, there were offers by foreign countries to lease and build up a launch center in Brazil, since the location near the Equator is very valuable for most launches.

The former government was making a deal with your country, the US would lease the base for a time, develop it and then turn it over the us after their period was over. It was a very good deal, since it would be used as one of NASA's main launch sites. Of course there were doubts over how much the US really would leave with us, specially considering it's technology no power wants to see proliferated, but still.

There were other good offers, from the European Space Agency too. But there was a change of government, PT got in and cut negotiations with the US. Instead, our space program would rely on a more "worker-friendly" nation, fucking Ukraine.

The Ukranians offered fucking nothing, they just wanted a place to launch their Cyclone rockets. No new development would be necessary, and they wouldn't build anything at all. There would be no tech transfers, or even cooperation between our nations. They would just pay to use the launch site.

In the end the project suffered massive delays and bureaucracy problems from both sides. No full rocket ever arrived in Brazil. And then the entire Ukraine blew up in chaos, and the entire thing was canceled.
