JC Staff doesn't exactly suck, but MADHOUSE is a top-tier studio that turns just about everything it touches into gold, so S2 is bound to be disappointing.

What's the point of doing this? No Jap animation studio has in-house animators except Kyoani and Ghibli. The rest hire like contract workers I think. You should be looking at the staff to see if it'll be shit or not.
Some studios consistently put out high-quality shows, and some studios consistently put out shows with really shitty animation (e.g. Studio Deen, Studio Gonzo). I think it's safe to say an adaptation of your favorite manga would do much better in the hands of MADHOUSE than Studio Deen.
And I don't know if Gainax uses in-house animators, but their track record is so stellar that I think worship is maybe warranted.
