that guy could be a great villain, we just need to find the perfect role, Rasputin maybe?

Adam driver needs to be rasputin.

Ben Mendelsohn is a big mac. He gets marketed to you as a gourmet burger because he has been utilized as part of the "prestige farming" range of big macs. But at the end of the day he is just another product sold to make cheetos bags russle and fedoras tip.

Ben Mendelsohn in Slow West. Chris Pratt in Guardians of the Galaxy. It's all the same meme just in a different flavour. You're getting cucked all the same.

>based phoenix
>based jake
>based goose
>based oscar issacs
>based fassbender
The list goes on. No better than Sandler or DiCaprio. Only difference is they're being targeted towards your memetic demographic.

>Animal Kingdom

He was great in Bloodline.

This guy literally plays nothing BUT villains. I think they do it because he has the most annoying voice ever so he's easy to hate.

I have no idea what you're talking about but you sound like an idiot.

Yeh

He's fucking amazing in Place beyond the Pines

GROUSE CUNT

idk but he's an amazing actor

We stand here amidst MY schievement, NOT YOURS

Why is his voice so annoying though? It's weird because his normal speaking voice is fine but when he puts on an American accent he sounds so obnoxious.

He can't do General American, it's always this weird upper class Boston Brahmin type accent that he does, which is automatically obnoxious

>casually does a more nuanced, realistic George VI than a Best Picture Oscar winner did a few years earlier

You sure showed him

All his villains are great tho.

There are cunts who have never seen Animal Kingdom.

That's because he played a side character

Nonsensical comment.

He seems like he would be pretty fun to talk to.

You mean the original one?
>casually does a more nuanced, realistic Winston Churchill than an Oscar winner did a few years later

I haven't seen either movie but I find it hard to believe that this random nobody could do a better job than Gary Oldman.

can I get a supercut without the chink, the beaner and the whore?

Attached: 1521695410497.jpg (600x655, 48K)

His character was certainly more nuanced and realistic that Oldman's version where he rode the Underground and met the based black man of 1940s London who could recite English poetry

Can you go fuck yourself?

oh, so we were talking to a magatard, got it.

I hate Sup Forumsreddit but to call Gary Oldman's acting style nuanced or realistic, especially with the kind of character they made Churchill to be with him greeting the multicultural denizens of wartime Britain, is actually the opinion that is retarded.

Of course I don't mean the original one you insane retard. I mean your shitty comment that playing a side character automatically makes it easier to give a nuanced superior performance.

>Timothy spall
>random nobody
Pleb

For the most part it does because you don't delve into the character and so the actor does not have much to work on in the performance.
You probably think he gave a nuanced performance because he wasn't cussing or screaming like Colin Firth in The King's Speech, but that's all down to the script and the fact that Firth's character was examined in all his detail. To compare the two performances is apples and oranges.
Ditto with Oldman shitting himself laughing at "up your bum!" and screaming at his advisors in Churchill as opposed to Spall playing the gruff supporter of the king in The King's Speech.

Nonsense. The reason the performance in darkest hour is so vastly superior to the one in kings speech is in part due to Mendelssohn's talent. But 95 percent of it is that the director of the kings speech is Tom hooper, the worst director of prestige pictures working today, a tone deaf effete asshole of sub-average intelligence who should not be allowed to come close to any actor who is not doing Gay porn. Have you seen the Danish Girl? Daniel day Lewis would appear like an amateur if he was directed by hooper.

I love these videos but Ben is wrong, Darth Vader cannot use Force lightning because it would damage the machinery that's keeping him alive. You see this in RotJ when he dies from Palpatine's Force lightning barely touching him.

It's kind of ridiculous, the Darth Vader we see is a heavily nerfed Anakin Skywalker and he still kicks so much ass. Imagine how strong he could have become if he hadn't gotten his shit kicked in by Obi-Wan on Mustafar.

Amazing how you have no argument beyond "Mendelssohn is talented" and "Hooper is shit".

You know what else is amazing? How bad Batman vs. Superman is. Holy shit what a terrible movie.

Your argument is 'side characters automatically give better Performances than main characters'. That's why people talk about Leonardo dicaprio stealing gangs of new york, I guess. About Danny devito stealing cuckoos nest. About Cybill Shepherd stealing taxi driver. It's an idiot opinion.
Darkest hour is a piece of shit, but the director at least knows how to handle actors, something hooper is obviously struggling with, if not actively sabotaging by incompetence and bad instincts.
(name a good performance in a hooper film)

>Your argument is 'side characters automatically give better Performances than main characters'.
That's the exact opposite of what I've been saying. Holy shit, are you illiterate?

>(name a good performance in a hooper film)
Colin Firth, The King's Speech

You said the reason Mendelssohn gave a more nuanced realistic performance was because he was a side character.

>good performance
>Colin firth, the kings speech
>my d-d-d-dear f-f-fellow englishmen
>you c-c-cannot sit there! That is where the k-k-king sits!
Like any performance in a hooper movie overacted to the max, directed by a man who abhors subtlety because he is aiming at the dumbest possible viewer (in this case you)

is there a 3rd season yet?

Yes, it's been out for like a year. It was the last season though, show's over now.

yeah i don't keep up with stuff much these days, thanks user.

No problem. With so much to potentially keep up with it can be easy to miss this stuff even if you do.

Attached: IMG_1510.jpg (2048x1365, 452K)

he looks like a hot mess, but to me he's sexy AF

NOT YOU AGAIN!

I started appreciating him more when I realized he has vague aesthetic similarities to Harrison Ford.

WHAT IF I SAY I'M NOT LIKE THE OTHERS

YOUR HIT ON THE REBEL BASE IT DIDN'T WORK MY FRIEND

Manufactured stars actually for example, Oscar Isaacs. By falling for the Oscar Isaacs meme you're every bit as bad as the people lining up for the latest Chris Pratt flick. These men are marketing tools, not actors. Inside Llewyn Davis was a hollywood shill job made for the express purpose of creating a new "legitimate" actor to be used in subsequent capeshit releases in order to attract the "film buff" demographic to maximize profits. This happens all the time in hollywood. They pluck out a new star with an inoffensive face from obscurity, put them in an indie shit on the cheap, and bam, they now have "legitimacy" "wow look at this hot new talented actor" appeal and can now be a new "artificial star" to hinge your summer tentpole release on.

It is all fraud, a manipulation. Oscar Isaac is no more an artist, no more a human being even, than the new mcdonalds festive hamburger promotion. He is smoke and mirrors, a light show, a pretend actor.

Exact same career progression is true of all of the shilled meme actors of late. Lawrence, Fassbender, Hardy, Pratt. By supporting these "lesser known" critical darling you are only enabling the pre-production marketing phase of the capeshit machine.

Isaac is lying to you with his very existence.

These copypastas are the stupidest shit ever and you just know that the people who post them are going to get hit with some karmic justice like losing all their bitcoin.

Whatever you say bud

...

Those eyes remind me of Rutger Hauer. Is it why the guy is mostly playing villains?

I'm curious if there actually are any films where he doesn't play villains. Would be interesting to see him as a heroic protagonist.
