Finally watched it and I thought it was good
Blade runner 2049
It’s a good movie
That's good
good job user
Good
Ok
its a good movie
Very good, yes
good thread anons thanks
good movie
Oh haha sorry i didn't realize it was a meme thread and fucked up the streak I'm this poster: Sorry guys!
It's good :)
Very good movie. I love the autist who constantly samepost about soy though, that's quite the forced meme he's trying to go with there.
>WHAT'S IT LIKE TO HOLD THE HAND OF SOMEONE YOU LOVE? INTERLINKED
yes, its good
Villeneuve saw what he had made and it was good
>tfw you ask yourself that every day
Im so alone
that's pretty fuckin neato my man
>DO YOU FEEL THAT THERE'S A PART OF YOU THAT'S MISSING? INTERLINKED
Hmmm. Good
I C BEAMS
>WHERE IS THE PLACE IN THE WORLD YOU FEEL THE SAFEST? WITHIN
I liked it for the most part, but I left the theater unsatisfied. I think it's because the villains were underused and kinda lame. Plus the whole resistance stuff was silly and unnecessary.
>DO YOU THINK YOU COULD FIND OUT ALL THE ANSWERS TO ALL THE QUESTIONS? DREADFULLY
i agree, good night to everyone
>WHAT DID SHE LOOK LIKE? STEM
It literally contributed nothing to the film. It's been ages since I've last seen anything go from a solid 8/10 to a 4/10 so quickly.
good
Op here
Resistance stuff was unnecessary but it was important to show there would be push back to the ever expanding capitalist society that would breed even humans to further it's agenda, that you can't treat humans like they're worse than others. At least that's the way I interpreted it
I'm sure we can all agree it was good.. but
was it great?
>those brainlets
The resistance was there to show that they were the same as the humans, and wanted to use K for "greater purposes".
In the end K chooses his own path, says fuck you to both humans and replicants and saves Deckard. He made his choice.
I think br2049 >>>>> blade runner
The original is very bad, despite different time technology (in making it), there are several things wrong with the original that spoiled it hard for me, like pacing for example, sure the new one is also slow BUT the old one took forever in one fucking scene of deckard looking at a picture in the monitor i fucking skipped ahead coz i was dying, also deckard journey is pretty simple, he sets out to do something, then he does, movie is over, better yet last replicant didn't even got killed, he just ran out of lifetime coincidentally before killing deckard, sure that icbeans speech was nice, but very anticlimatic, through out the movie harrison ford looked like he didn't wanned to act (in contrst, goose cannot act, but it comes out as robotic and it fits the lore)
Harrison Ford is a bad person, goose is a bad actor.
No. Devolved standard action movie towards the end.
I thought the resistance stuff was only about the treatment of replicants? I never got the feeling they wanted to change society beyond a better place for replicants... And that was expanded more in the specials they released for this movie.
It is good
>nothing
you could say it was haphanded and came too quickly, but it served a purpose
purpose was for Ks character, not the world. It was about giving K a choice, and him going for either or none is what made his character in the end. Without it, it might have just been the case of anyone doing the same thing given the scenario
breddy gud
reads like false flag bait
>villains
Thing is, every single of them had a good reason behind their actions, none of them were being straight out disney bad guy (except wallace at some moments) so i find it hard to figure who is really the "bad guy" coz they all had pretty great points.
it's all good bruh
I wasn't falseflagging, though my english makes me sound (even more) autistic, so i apologize for that.
But my point stands, i did not liked the original.
The resistance was there for K to tell fuck off to and go his own way., which is complete reversal of his character at the start of the film. They were needed to push him to become special through his own actions, or 'human', to complete his character arc.
It was good
Well yeah it was just about treatment of replicants but I thought that was sort've tied into the idea of how shit their society was, that they would use human slaves that they pretended were less than human because they wanted to colonize more planets and own more and consume more. The main villain clearly wants to use the replicants to further his goal of owning the stars. Plus we see a lot of poverty and how much people are treated like shit because of this society.
yeah I think that was a nice touch that he made his own choice
WANNA BE FREEEEEEEEEE
>none of them were being straight out disney bad guy
Wallace was evil to the point of ridiculousness, and none of the motivations were ever expanded beyond "I want to be God". Wallace is the weakest part of the movie.
nah, it was impressive in that it managed to not completely fuck up the legacy of the original and be a decent movie on its own. but it didn't really create anything distinct or take that many chances so not "Great" imo.
>evil
Wallace did literally nothing wrong, hes trying to serve mankind as much as possible, hes a pharaoh using slaves not to build pyramids but to build the future, an autist like K might suffer here and there in the process
That final sequence is such a touching moment
Wallace wasn't even evil
This, Wallace was actually the good guy. The rebellion was actually evil.
K falls in the middle.
Because it was.
very food
Good and evil is such an abstract concept anyway, people who grew up with television shows and movies should learn this again...
explain how they were evil. They could've been evil if they were gonna kill normal people for the actions of a few evil men in order to dominate the human race but at most they wanted to silence deckard, which is somewhat evil but not morally reprehensible, he was a loose end. The most we see is them wanting to have civil rights
Good post, good film.
Chilean Sea Beams
although i do not think the character original intention was evil, thanks to letho he was translated as such.
yeah i agree.
>implying in denial
>I C BEAMS OF GLITT'
>GATE OF TÄNN, TOO
>I SEE THEM ON FIRE, FOR ME AND YOU
>AND I DONT BELIEVE IT MYSELF
>WHAT A TEARS IN THE RAIN
They wanted to wage war and create chaos.
Silencing Deckard is bad too.
Ever read Rossum's universal robots? The ending is practically their goal.
I've only watched the movie but I didn't think that's what they were going for in the movie but if that's what it was then yeah that's fucking bad. I'm happy that he re-united Deckard and his daughter then.
Resistance was there to show that the grass is not greener on the other side. The mission they offer to K is no better than the missions given to him his whole life: to sacrifice his morality and kill someone he see as innocent for the leader’s greater good. Imo, the resistance was the worst because they are a hypocritical bunch that take advantage of emotional vulnerable replicants and treat them like shit anyway.
Wallace is only see as more “evil” than other characters like Lt.Joshi and the resistance leader because his immoral action was shown on screen explicitly. He also killed his own creation that he gave life to in the first place. Other characters ordered death of the innocence as well. His end goal is noble, just as other characters. All three sides represent messiah figures who are willing to do a few dirty deeds for “a greater good”.
They are basically a replicant supremacy group and see themself as superior to normal human and have the right to take over normal human due to it. Ignore that it was human who gave them those special trait in the first place. The life they offer to most replicant is no better anywah. They also have their own heriarchy and the leader can ask the underling to do anything. Pleasure model continue to be working in prostitution. They discriminate against K because he was a blade runner killing his own kind, even though they know that it’s not his choice. They promises freedom to replicants if they can get the power of reproduction. However, they separate the first child replicant from her father, imprison her, try to kill her father and plan to use her as a figurehead for their own war. Any child born in the organization will have to serve the organization in the conflict. They don’t have issue killing their own allies/ former allies so those are part of the organization are basically slave to it. Is that life much better for the current replicant?
Not OP, but I also watched for the first time yesterday. Was really good, but I hated most of the scenes with Luv like when she kills police lady in her office and the fight scene at the very end. Everything else seemed to fit really well in the movie but the way her character acted just felt awkward and out of place in what was otherwise almost 3 hours of pure kino. Also I want a JOI girlfriend
uh... soylers???
