Do you have an unpopular favorite character from anything?
Do you have an unpopular favorite character from anything?
Charles Dance was perfect for the role of Tywin
Back to whence you came
was Tywin really unpopular? sure he was a major antagonist but everyone enjoyed watching him onscreen
Papa Lannister is literally perfect casting.
Killgrave from Jessica Jones is the only one I can think of that actively upsets people. Every other unpopular favorite of mine is in vidya and weeb shit so I don't think it belongs here.
Chuck from BCS, I agree he's an asshole but he's also an incredibly interesting character
Probably not that much but he is pretty irredeemable as a character so I don't imagine he is a fan favorite since people like Tyrion so much.
Tywin did nothing wrong
I don't really care, you can post anime and cartoons if you want.
He became a bitter, myopic sadist after his wife died giving birth to his disabled son, who he actively, consistently tortured for it.
this. best head of a noble house in all the kingdoms
fucking Shae was pretty stupid. kind of out of character too imo but I guess it was his way of getting back at tyrion
>he is pretty irredeemable as a character
How so? Everything he did was for his family. And don't give me the bullshit about him being mean to the midget, that only made him more motivated.
I mean I am OP so obvs I identify with him somewhat but I don't think any of his actions in the story are justified. I like to think he'd have been a lot less of a cunt if his wife didn't die and was around to soften him, and that is why he reacted so harshly when she died. Its been a while since I read the books so idk if that was mentioned or not, but obviously her death would have changed him for the worse.
>Everything he did was for his family.
Tony Soprano over here.
>And don't give me the bullshit about him being mean to the midget, that only made him more motivated.
Is this a joke opinion?
this, but more so based Burton
Tywin is my favorite character in GoT also.
What an incredibly weak response, were those supposed to be rebuttals?
afaik this is what tywins sister tells jamie at the siege of riverrun, after tywins death.
i don't think he was a cunt, though. he just did what was necessary to see his house prevail. the seven kingdoms would have been in way better shape if tywin was king instead of robert. he wasn't the worlds best dad though.
Your post don't deserve the effort
Robert was a bad leader because he didn't want to be a leader and a good leader can't be a bad dad. If he weren't a bad dad he wouldn't have been shot on the can. These are the intricacies of his character, it adds depth, every character in GOT is flawed in some way.
/thread
>giving up that easily
heh, see ya around kid
just kidding. nobody likes skyler
>a good leader can't be a bad dad
i disagree. tywin was an exceptional millitary and political leader, but he was way too lenient considering his children. other houses would have killed tyrion at birth, for example, instead of letting him be a living stain on their houses honour. he was just too soft in regard to his own family, which was what ultimatively killed him. cersei and jamie where also pretty badly raised (incest, alcoholic maniac daughter, dyslexic son).
I'M NOT GONNA MAKE IT HOME
FOH SUPPAH
I don't totally hate her but she is definitely typical annoying white woman with a much more annoying white sister. And I'm white, thats how white they are.
Mickey rourke in Iron man 2, or just iron man 2 in general
him and mr. french were awesome
>other houses would have killed tyrion at birth
Not most of them, maybe the Boltons or Tarlys or Greyjoys, but nobody in the south. And letting your children bang each other and entertaining their mongoloid offspring as puppet leaders is just heinous on top of being a terrible idea. He should have had Joff killed not Tyrion.
>tfw you spend all night burying a poor bastard in three feet of mud but some guy from john hancock who gets a blowjob every thursday walking his dog uncovers it
meant for this thread
I don't think normies can recognize when they're enjoying an antagonist's presence unless the advertising is built around it like The Dark Knight
I MEAN WHAT KINDA DOG IS THAT? MUST'VE BEEN A PRETTY BIG FUCKIN DOG MAN
I love nothing more than a good villain. Every scene with him and Arya is pure gold.
Love this guy. He should get his own spinoff where he burns down American villages on the shores of Lake Erie.
He was pretty hot
its no coincidence that Game of thrones turned to shit after he died in the end of season 4
>the only gay character is a stereotypical bitchy/catty queen
Pottery
It was to be expected, I actually didn't really think the books would get finished pretty early on. I also knew Jaime would turn out to be less than completely terrible but people didn't believe me. He has yet to redeem himself though, I think whatever twist was intended for his character was thrown away.
theres a 90% chance jamie will kill cersei in the end
That would get it done
these two posts are how you know they're a teenage virgin boy
Characters that are generally hated but you like them anyway?
not so much the messiah stuff but president Gaius was pretty hilarious
But I'm an old woman
i think supporting joffrey as king is just the logical consequence of him being too soft on his own houses affairs. sure, it was a terrible idea, but instead of showing the hard hand he so loved to show to his bannermen and enemies of house lannister, he just couldn't bring himself to do what was necessary. that ultimatively lead to house lannisters demise (it's primary line, at least).
Idk I found it hard to like Chuck. He is an interesting character but he's so petty and spiteful.
Fucking syrians
Oh god no not Ashur. Why does he have fans, he made me want to eat my hands off
Grima from LOTR
He should've been the main villain instead of Buu, who fucking sucks
is this show good?
I'm a burger and I'd watch it
I haven't met anyone that didn't love Tywin as an antagonist.
You never met people that don't like antagonists? Lucky you
He deserved better
go bACk
not sure about the general public, but everyone on Sup Forums likes Boromir
I'm pretty sure Shae beguiled him to keep herself out of trouble/on the Lannister payroll. Tywin was probably a-ok with this, and it had the fringe benefit of cucking Tyrion, as you say.
The protagonists are all really boring, but the John Graves Simcoe, Robert Rogers and Benedict Arnold characters make it well worth it.
pic NOT related? Tywin is the #1 coolest character on GoT, and Charles Dance was fucking perfect.
Its related by virtue of his character, nothing else. Charles Dance stole the show afaic.
His name is literally Littlefinger, me and my friends make fun of bad smells by saying it smells like him
That checks out.
Better than his weird gross cocker spaniel of a father
john noble can’t act for shit, funny character though
