Knowledge is porridge

I liked it. Up there with Peep Show and The Office.

that it’s the best comedy ever tied with brass eye

I work for the government now. I know it's a meme to say it's accurate, but it absolutely is. Obviously there's less swearing and stuff, but the gaffes are incredibly realistic.

>mfw watching a minister completely fuck up a speech on the TV while the speechwriter is sat there cringing

ITT: Political moments that could've been an episode of The Thick Of It

>Lucy Powell, the Labour campaign's vice-chair, was widely thought to have committed a gaffe about the stone, when she said on Radio 5 Live: "I don't think anyone is suggesting that the fact that he's carved them in stone means he's absolutely not going to break them or anything like that".[17] This was particularly damaging as the whole point of the stone had been to underline the seriousness of Miliband's commitment.

This is the best moment in the show

Do Americans like this?

OFFICIAL IANNUCCI SHOW RANKINGS
>1. The Day Today/I'm Alan Partridge/The Thick Of It/Knowing Me Knowing You With Alan Partridge/The Armando Iannucci Shows/Mid Morning Matters With Alan Partridge/Time Trumpet
>2. Veep

I'm American and it's one of my favorite shows.

strong but not up to this standard

This

>the Edstone
Making a fucking gravestone when everyone sees you as a dead duck was Ianucci enough as it was.

>it's just another day at the fuck-office

Malcolm inspired me to get far more creative with my swearing

Reminder that the show is incredibly popular among the new generation of politicians and civil servants. The show has probably influenced a lot more people than anyone realises.

Literally GOAT comedy

>"I know this is what they think people like me think, so I hate thinking it, but I just find myself thinking that they're from a different fucking species. You know, with their t-shirts and weird trousers and tabards. Why do they wear clothing with writing on it? And why are they so fat?"

mission hill

like the simpsons but more real and relatable

Anyone else want to see Armando Iannucci make a film version of A Confederacy Of Dunces?

Attached: confederacyofdunces.jpg (616x1000, 619K)

>Attention seeking tent-based twattery

i love i’m alan partridge but the fucking laugh track does my nut in

I barely notice it desu

TTOT was a masterpiece, I didn't like the movie though, am I alone in that?
Anyway, other great comedies out there worthy of mention include Extras, the first half of Peep Show, and if you like Armando Ianucci then The Armando Ianucci Shows is really good

in the loop was poor with some great moments, youtube.com/watch?v=J7IVX9xWl6A comes to mind

Literally the only stand-out moment for me, and that's just because it's always funny to take the piss out of Americans, something the movie could've used more of giving the setting. The rest of In The Loop was just a bit of a mess that was alright but not even close to TTOT

not the user you replied to before but my favorite quote from In The Loop was at the beginning when Tucker said "We've got enough CIA goons here to stage a fucking coup de'tat"

How can one man be so based?

Glenn's resignation was when television peaked. Everything in the previous episodes and series was leading up to that scene and it was glorious. Like a bureaucratic version of Falling Down.

>You, Fergus... when you asked me to join you, all you had was your principles, but over the last two years you've bent like a human fucking palm tree, swaying to the guff of these six-toed, born to-rule ponyfuckers.

>If you're gonna go, just go. Spare us this Peter Finch bullshit.

>Oh, Adam, you're waiting for your turn! Oh no, I remember... it's your turn right now. You are simply the most loathsome human being I have ever met. You were so well suited at the Mail it's a shame you came over here. You know what? I hate you both; Tweedle-Twat and Tweedle-Prick. You contribute absolutely nothing to the world so thank fucking God you have no power!

>Yes we do!

>No, you don't

I loved that show. Nostalgia hit watching that

God manion is the best

Roger Allam's cursing is up there with Peter Capaldi's

wait

will i appreciate atleast 90% of In The Loop if i never watched the show?

?

youtube.com/watch?v=oXh4T-ShaL0

And you just thought he was a story to make naughty MPs eat all their truffles and swan.

M*A*S*H you plebs.

Peter Mannion was the only man in the entire show I would have voted for

?????????

are that and peep show new or old? if the second, did they age well?

some brits have recommended them and I'd like to start watching another comedy

Teri is a fucking great character. The episode where they start saying she looks like a shark is among my favorite bits on the show

yes, they actually slightly retcon the show, Ollie's character is different.

Malcolm is pretty much the only character that carries over from the TV version.

Both shows are from the last 10 years or so I believe and worth a watch

This is actually why they stopped making The Thick of It, real politics had become too absurd to parody.
