For example, he's not trying to use the exact same over the top visuals that worked for a bare-bones minimalist heist movie with a borderline silent protagonist for a symbolism-heavy psychological thriller where the cringeworthy dialogue has to be delivered by a 15 year old child actor and a runway model.

They're alright. They're good if you're in a mood for his stuff. It's nearly always the spiritual struggles and eclectic pursuits of the ultra wealthy. I suspect he must have grown up in some LA upper crust family to really know that scene so well.

They're always called comedies but they're more heart-warming dramas with a few funny bits. I feel his biggest problem, is his characters are for the most part unrelatable except to all but 1% of the population. Sure, it's fun to wonder what you'd do if you took a few months in India to "find yourself", or you'd make aquatic documentaries, but that's so out of range to the working class America, that I wonder if that's why his viewership is dropping off.

I'm starting to think film critics might be downright sociopathic considering the stuff they describe as comedies.

They're very polarizing for me, I really love Grand Budapest Hotel and Moonrise Kingdom but can't stand Life Aquatic and Darjeeling.

I've seen it a couple of times. I think it's a well crafted movie, it has all the hallmarks of Wes Anderson's style. My issue with it is I didn't really connect with any of the characters the way I did with his other movies. So, it's not that I think it's a low grade film, it's just that I didn't get personally invested as the story was told the way I did watching his other movies so I don't rate it as being one of his best.

Darjeeling and Life are the two odd ones out for me. I think I've seen pretty much all of his movies multiple times. Life I found mildly unpleasant, Darjeeling was fine but forgettable.
