Do you guys believe that Kurt Cobain wrote a song for Ren and Stimpy?
Do you guys believe that Kurt Cobain wrote a song for Ren and Stimpy?
Could I? Possibly.
Do I? Hell no.
No, but Courtney Love killed him.
I don't believe it but I believe it could happen. Guy had more of a sense of humor than they like to portray these days.
if I was a stoned rockstar in the 90s I'd probably do that
If Marilyn Manson can do a song for Clone High, I don't see why not.
more likely someone tied to the drug trade
Widely believed but false. It was actually a Meat Puppets song, he just covered it.
...
So...Courtney Love.
This is fucking retarded
Nirvana was not even close to the first mainstream band to just be low-grade crap with no understanding or desire to understand music. I mean, that's literally what punk was. Not even the first to make it big. All they did was return a more traditional style of rock to the forefront of music.
So many fags these days like to pretend everything old is genius and say Nirvana is the cause of everything bad to seem smart.
you literally don't even understand what that pic is saying
you're literally proving the pic right
>a decent point becomes japwank
Fucking hell
>punk
>no elements of traditional musicality or pop
Jesus
That pic is actually referring to Japanese VIDEO GAME music, NOT Japanese music in general. It unfortunately doesn't make that 100% clear in the image.
No doubt he would be absolutely depressing today if he didn't kill himself then
>le wrong generation
>nirvana is the most influential band in history and all western music made after the 90s and after is influenced by it
lol
I don't know but I fucking hate him
That's actually the exact OPPOSITE of what that pic is saying.
if he isn't saying his generation's music sucks then what is he saying
he's saying a band from 25 fucking years ago is shit
are you literally illiterate? do you even know when nirvana was around?
also, that pic is about video game music, not music in general
I know it doesn't get that part across very well, but that was what they were talking about
plus they're comparing western (video game) music to asian (video game) music, not old music to modern music, so even if it wasn't about video games it'd still be about east vs. west not old vs. new
Okay, I would like to throw my coin into the well here. Kurt was an idol of mine when I was 11 - 15, or 16'ish. I remember listening to one of his songs before I even knew what Nirvana was, and I loved it. Although, was Nirvana really a mind blowing band? Not necessarily. What they were was something different, something a lot of kids, including myself, could connect too. The music? It's great stuff, but I wouldn't call it revolutionary. A lot of what was on "Nevermind" was simple enough that I learned the chords by ear, especially "Polly." What made them a big thing was being relatable and different. No, I'm not saying the music wasn't good, it was honestly pretty awesome, and still is in my opinion. For me, someone who has probably gone a little too deep into Cobain lore, I found that he isn't someone who should look up too, but one who you can have a better chance at relating with. All in all, pretty great music, but I can't look at the man himself the same way I did when I was a teen.
Do I believe that Kurt Cobain was a sell-out in for a quick buck?
Yeah. But that's why you sign on a major label, isn't it? He wasn't in it to make something deep or something greater; he was in it to make money. Of course, that empty life killed him in the end.
So it was Sleazy P Martini who killed Kurt?
But american video game music is largely orchestral or electronic.
Well said user. Kurt would have been better off if he actually tried to get help for his stomach problems instead of numbing it with heroin.
