Thoughts on this? I thought it was decent enough.
Ozark
>shoehorned gay plot
>dude rednecks lmao
>underage sex and drinking is totally normal
>war on drugs doesn't work
Did I miss anything?
I was avoiding it because of Jason Bateman, but now that I've finally watched it, he is surprisingly the best part of the whole show. Definitely looking forward to season 2.
Yeah he nails the character. I like his confidence.
I liked it a lot! I'm from the area, and it's cool to see an interesting take on the lakes.
>underage sex and drinking is totally normal
t.someone who has never been to rural america
I agree that the gay stuff seems ridiculous and unnecessary, but it wasn't enough to make me dislike the whole show.
I looked on google maps and how the fuck is this series of rivers considered a lake?
I enjoyed it for the most part, although I did fast forward through the gay scenes cuz I'm straight as fuck.
Honestly pretty great and interesting drama with a good setting. Unless you're and can't enjoy anything because the evil liberal conspiracy is blatantly poisoning the media and blah blah blah....
It doesn't flow enough to be considered a river, the entire system is technically an oxbow lake
>Ruth and family steal money
>Bateman says that they can't use the money because of IRS and killing him would result in cartel members killing all of them
>Ruth and family give money back
>Ruth then plans to steal money again
This is the actual plot
I liked the part when Buddy told the lieutenant to shut his tamale hole before emptying a load of buckshot into his chest.
bargain bin breaking bad
decent enough
its better than 80% OF THE dogshit /tv rants and rave about
>war on drugs doesn't work
So it's a highly accurate show then?
You left out the part where she was going to learn how to launder from Bateman before stealing the money. She had the strip club and could have done it, but then she had a change of heart after Wendy was nice to her.
Loved it, can't wait for S2.
Also giv qt redneck gf
Still doesn't change the fact that the cartel would come looking for who killed Bateman.
Yes but she's an overconfident 15 year old and doesn't fully understand the implications of cartel politics. Not a plothole
Bateman flat out told her the cartel will come looking for whoever was fucking with the money. And it wasn't just her that was involved, it was her family that knew about her plan. She put them all at risk and they stood by and let it happen. And nowadays everyone knows how insane and dangerous a Mexican drug cartel is.
Bateman's episodes were kino as fuck, the dude can legitimately direct a thriller.
Also the score was fantastic.
A retarded fifteen year old did something stupid and none of her retarded family stopped her. Not a plothole just because you disagree with the character
She's not fifteen you idiots she's at least 18. She tells Wyatt she'll try to get guardianship of him and his brother.
Still not a plothole
But they ALREADY ESTABLISHED that they were afraid of the cartel by giving the money back to Bateman. They might as well have just kept the money and killed Bateman when they all met in that bathroom.
They literally stole money, gave it back out of fear, then tried to steal it back again (and that original threat hasn't gone away).
It's so shitty.
Seems like an accurate representation of your average American family.
Yeah, average American families steal millions of dollars and have to balance their decision to keep it with the fear of drug cartels and the IRS on their backs.
Go get raped by a migrant you europoor/leaf faggot.
Why can't burgers think abstractly?
>They can't change their minds. They make a point of establishing they're all volatile idiots
