Why Peter doesn't feel guilt for all the death caused by Carnage (and the other symbiontes)?
Why Peter doesn't feel guilt for all the death caused by Carnage (and the other symbiontes)?
Oh boo hoo poor me, I picked up a costume when I was whisked away to a different planet by a funk god, and when I came back, the suit came alive and had a baby and now both of them along with a few others at given times go around murdering people! Boo hoo!
It just sounds ridiculous
Now that's a good food for thought.
It's kind of funny to me that Pete being a dick to the symbiote is what caused the mess, and that he would also be a dick pretty much all the time to Eddie as well later as well as the symbiote
He just always has to be a dick to the symbiote and Eddie, it's like part of his character
He probably never thought about how he is indirectly responsible, I only realized it in this thread.
I meant he is reponsible for doing nothing. Not trying to seek the simbionte and not killing it.
Carnage got torn in half and thrown into the sun and it's still fucking around! How the hell do you kill a goddamn symbiote!?
I think the first time Cletus lost his symbiote, he revealed he could grow a new one from his own blood, then I think after he lost that one he got another Carnage from another dimension lol, I could be fuzzy about all that but basically Carnage will always find a way to return if the plot demands it
This is the man who spent over 20 years beating himself up because his parents died in a situation that had nothing to do with him. His guilt complex is astronomically large.
Has Peter ever given Wolverine shit for not saving his parents? Or Nick Fury for sending them on that mission? Not that I'd expect Fury to care how Peter feels, of course.
Not that I recall, Peter's always too busy pitying and blaming himself for shit like that.
Same with Ben, and his breakdown after fake parents died, and whether he was "real" or not. Dude was in a constant spiral of pity and self-loathing up through the 90's, but he also has a tendency to not blame himself for things that WERE his fault (like Bennet Brant getting shot).
So who has more guilt and self-pity: Peter or Matt? Remember, Matt recently considered atheism because Karen died over ten years ago, and Karen's death is what led to Shadowland.
That's Batman dude. But if we're being honest here he was completely at fault for killing uncle Ben
I thought Bruce was at least partly responsible for his parents's deaths since he's the reason they even went to the movies?
DeMatteis took a shit at this in the 90's, and the answer seems to be Matt simply because he hesitates less.
Try reading stuff other than origin stories, my dude, Peter's guilt over his secret agent parents dying has been a thing for eons.
Friendly reminder that the symbiote did nothing wrong and its eyes its first lover that actually tought it what love meant tried to murder it because he though it was gross.
All it had to do was not turn Peter into a douchebag and he'd have kept it.
It could have easily seen what it was doing to his life, especially since it can look at memories.
Its its own fault that Parker abandoned it.
stop with your cuck guilt
>All it had to do was not turn Peter into a douchebag and he'd have kept it.
It didn't, that was crap they made up in the cartoon show. Peter got rid of it canonically just because he learned it was a living creature, not a magical costume or high tech or whatever the fuck he thought it was
In some shitty Carnage storyline I bought when I was a kid, he definitely did.
>All it had to do was not turn Peter into a douchebag
That literally never happened in the comic. The closest the symbiote got to that was using his body to go out and fight crime and likely eat loads of chocolate. The most loyal gf Peter had and he got rid of it because it was gross.
He got rid of it because it tried to permanently bond with him against his will, you pathetic symbiotefags.
it took me a moment to realize that that was a symbiote-chan and not the girl from overlord
>against his will.
He consensually allowed it on his body and it consensually allowed him to take it to his home planet. You can't just bang an alien, take it to your planet, then abandon it with the hopes it'll die in the wild. Especially when after you try to murder it it still comes back to save your life as one of its final acts.
Considering the dumb fucking symbiote is constantly talking to and influencing all its other hosts, why didn't it do the same to Peter? Almost like it was pretending to be just a costume and basically raping him, culminating in trying to attach itself to him permanently against his will.
Peter should have put it in a fucking incinerator and be done with the whole mess.
>Considering the dumb fucking symbiote is constantly talking to and influencing all its other hosts, why didn't it do the same to Peter?
Because the symbiote didn't turn into a "villain" yet? The symbiote, after being abandoned by Peter (it's villainous backstory) and bonding with the also murderous and insane Brock (it's villainous debut and identity as "Venom) it became an angry murder hungry monster
What you're asking is no different than asking why didn't the Joker try killing people before he fell into a vat of acid
No, I'm asking why the symbiote never even attempted to communicate with Peter. Its a slimy, skeezy fuck and Peter should have killed as soon as he realized the rapey deception .
Literally the only reason it manipulated other hosts was to get back at Peter, who, again, was the first host to ever teach it what the emotion of love was. Hell, the whole reason it's even fucking with Brock is because it probably thinks it makes Peter jealous. Why do you think every single damn time Peter says he'll take it back the symbiote gladly abandons Brock?
see
It just magically learnt how to communicate the second Peter kicked its mangy ass to the curb?
SHIT WRITING
Like fuck man, we didn't even meet Eddie before he was Venom.
They still writ her/him/it pretty poorly to try and rationalize their marketing.
Yes.
See
The entire situation was written off the cuff, like a lot of the poorly explained, stupid parts of Spider-Man.
Peter's actions are still completely justified then.
Imagine if someone randomly told you that your left shoe was actually a sentient being who was going to permanently attach to your foot any second now. You'd rip that thing off and get as far away from it as possible.
Probably thought it was being polite or some shit. The symbiote isn't known for it's logic, it's kind of an airhead.
>who was going to permanently attach to your foot any second now.
Again, I think that was added later. Reed just said "yo dawg this shit's alive."
>Pretty much every single writer has treated Venom as a significant other since Eddie showed up.
>Grow to embrace the meme of it acting like a dumped girlfriend around Peter.
>Have it GIVE BIRTH.
>Still act like it's a he or it at all times.
>Never even get that far with the other symbiotes.
I feel like this must be some kind of mandate.
As far as I'm concerned it's a she. Venom was originally intended to be a female that the symbiote bonded to. Clearly they were planning on going the yandere lover route when you just look at the language used during the separation scene.
>No, I'm asking why the symbiote never even attempted to communicate with Peter.
>It just magically learnt how to communicate the second Peter kicked its mangy ass to the curb?
The symbiote has pretty much been shown to have steadily learned to communicate to varying degrees OVER THE YEARS, ranging from very simple, primitive broken speech being the best it was capable of
This was pretty much the case as far as I can recall, until it bonded with Mack Gargan many years later, at which point it was basically shown being fully capable of communicating as well as any human
So yeah, basically, it has been shown that it started off MUTE, then learned basic primitive speech, and then we fast forward to the modern day where it can fully communicate
That being said, you also had instances like this(pic related) though where it was shown to still be completely mute, though that could just be chalked up to writers doing what they want and not keeping up with the continuity or established traits
He does though?
It's an alien species...they are probably all the same and genderless
There doesn't need to be a gender, not with Transformers, and certainly not with piles of living goop....as far as we've seen, symbiotes are a genderless asexual race that reproduces asexually, male and female don't need to exist with an asexual race
How accurate is pic related?
Peter x Symbiote isn't a ship, it's a fetish
But it is a shapeshifter though, right? So could it technically make it look like a gooey girl with massive breasts while jerking its host off?
Why can't it be both?
I suppose if Babs x Joker can be a "ship", so can that.
He was the reason they left the theatre early
I'm objecting more to the fact that writers occasionally slip in "he" and masculine identifiers despite Venom being written as nonsexed at best, very feminine at worst.
I mean, yeah sure it could, but it's still an IT as far as I'm concerned since I don't think symbiotes actually have genitals
If the symbiote can disguise itself as clothes, camoflage itself into the background to the point that it's effectively invisible, and grow a giant faux mouth with fangs and a dripping tongue.....I'm pretty sure it's shape shifting abilities are pretty advanced, to say the least
Good thing postal mail is dead, or Peter would be getting crazed love-letters mailed to him daily when the symbiote takes over its current host at night.
Instead he just gets texts from dozens of phones and calls in different voices that sound like a drunk crazy ex.
Why didn't someone just kill Kasady the moment he got diagnosed with psychopathy?
Killing people who lack empathy should be okay regardless of crimes.
Anyone have those greentext that one user did of Peter's voicemails?
Why are you suicidal?
Empathy for lowly animals like mentally ill doesn't count.
>Things psychopaths say...
>Not me though, I just have the inability to show sympathy for those I deem unfit.
D-Do you know what empathy means?
I second this, i need them
>Peter the sasuke looking guy is a freak please save me
Huh, learn something new every daty.
The symbiote was explicitly referred to as a "she" by its wearer in MC2.
This sounds hilarious.
Pete feels guilt for literally every death he doesn't prevent.
