PUNISHER STORYTIME
All this year I'll be storytiming Punisher comics. Most of which will be from the pre-Ennis era, but there'll be a few Ennis era issues as well. Expect at least 1 storytime per week.
Yesterday I posted Steven Grant's follow-up to the Suicide Run "event" on The Punisher titles in the early 90s (which you can still read here: and here: ), an arc that dealt with the immediate aftermath and consequences of that massive story (which you can still read here: ). It brought back a TON of (the surviving) characters from Suicide Run and showed us varying degrees of "what happened next" to each of them and what condition they were in.
Today we'll be continuing with Steven Grant's run on The Punisher War Journal with the very next arc. Whereas yesterday's storytime dealt more with the immediate consequences of Suicide Run in a general sense, this one focuses VERY heavily on the supporting characters of that "event". In fact, The Punisher is basically only a co-star in his own comic for these issues, with several other characters getting as much (or more) page/cover time than he does! So if you're a fan of the early 90s Punisher supporting cast, or if you just want to read the follow-up to Suicide Run (because Steven Grant's War Journal is basically a "sequel" to it), then this arc is an absolute must read.
And if you read yesterday's storytime you'll have noticed that there was a backup story that ran in those issues that did not conclude yet. It continues into the issues in today's storytime, so we'll also be finishing THAT story as well, just like I promised.
