Honestly, it's not terrible. It's kinda like capeshit but it's not capeshit and the world building is somewhat interesting. It's a post-apoc America but it's not even recognizable as America outside of the few times we see ruins and shit.

It's still well choreographed and the fight scenes while silly and unrealistic are good in a crouching tiger hidden dragon kinda way, with people bounding around and flying and shit.

the main pluss for into the badlands is that its too budget to use cgi so you get oldschool style chroreography

If you liked him in that, you’ll fucking love him in this. Season 1 he’s the badass assassin right-hand man to basically the lord of this plantation-looking place, and over time seeing him getting the shit kicked out of him by his decision to leave is really satisfying and he sells it well.

Plus, the man can fucking fight.

Kung Fu action is fucking great. Like watching an old school kung fu movie from the 70s. Story is a genre mash-up but really works because of that - some really fun world building going on.
