Teen Titans vol 3

Teen Titans vol 3.
What does Sup Forums think of this run?

The concept of the older NTT quartet mentoring the then-young gun sidekicks of the DCU was fun if nothing else.

In retrospect, eight members is a big team.

It's shit for a Johns' book.

It's mediocre for a comic book.

It's good for a TT book.

That cover made me order a tailored starfire costume for the fiancee, and I dont even read cape comics.

I'm disappointed the story has a different design for starfire, than the one in that cover

It's good. Better than Teen Titans and Titans rebirth.

If you haven't read Young Justice, I imagine this comic would have no trouble convincing you that it's a good TT run.

In reality it's just a modernized remake of the Wolfman/Perez run, which is equally overrated.

Peter David or bust.

it's ruined a generation of heroes
Johns is a shitty edgelord and should just focus on ruining movies instead of my comics

>If you haven't read Young Justice, I imagine this comic would have no trouble convincing you that it's a good TT run.

I assume even without directly knowing YJ you'd have suspected this wasn't great when they had Bart kneecapped.

Johns is great on team books.

>Johns is great
lol

Not on this one he's not. Or new 52 Justice League.

I can't recall anyone else who wrote a team book that made me say "Oh thank god, Bendis is taking over".

It was dope for a while. First several arcs were fire. Johns at his peak.

It is to the Teen Titans what Morrison's JLA was to the Justice League

It's SHIIIT.

Starts off ruining every character involved, and then only gets worse as it devolves into splatterporn and issue after issue of "In This Issue: A Titant DIES"

I feel like eight is the biggest a team can be unless you're trying to do a whole thing with it, like JLU or the X-Men.

Cartoon pandering

lol at Starfire being old as fuck and Raven being young again

Also worst clone Superboy

>It is to the Teen Titans what Morrison's JLA was to the Justice League
>Entire team gets btfo by a literally who and then Catwoman kicks him in the balls and takes him out

Good analogy.

His Avengers was good and nobody knew the horror Bendis could do before his Avengers.

It's fine, only bad in comparison to YJ

>it's fine, only bad in comparison to like a good book
so it's bad?

was not great but it was the better teen titans book since wolfman/perez until now.

All Johns can do is pay homage to older books which is especially retarded with this book because he clearly never read Young Justice so he just shits all over Young Justice in his attempt to pay homage to New Teen Titans.

More like it's good without the context of YJ.

No, it's just TT changes the YJ characters. If you didn't read YJ, TT is just fine. It's a competent book, but if you like YJ then you'll realize it just shits all over the characters and makes them edgier.

Without the context of YJ it's a book trying to cash in on the popularity of the show and then doesn't have characters that act like them.

This. The YJ generation still hasn't recovered from the fallout of this shitshow.

Also this. That lineup wasn't done out of genuine story potential, but to cash in on cartoonfag secondaries.

It's not just specifically YJ that it shits on. You'd have to ignore their solos as well, and pretty much everything they've ever appeared in prior to Johns' TT.

Okay, I started this and seriously? Conner? Out of all the potential guys for romance plot, they want with conner? For fuck's sake.

Great until One Year Later, then it tirns to complete shit

Sup Forums thinks it's shit.
But it's actually pretty good.

The first parts of the run are ok. They make Impulse not so much of a joke and the Titans are basically old hands mentoring the new kids who are having growing pains.

Sebastian Blood stuff was kinda shit though. But it has neat arcs with the Legion and their future selves. I think it's the next volume which then goes and shits on that as well. Superboy fucking up the entire team without breaking a sweat was enjoyable, but the whole arc that belonged to with a Titans cross over was a bit weak considering it was basically a Luthor/Brainiac team up they were dealing with.

Like with JSA or the GL titles, John's wrote it for too long and sort of ruined what good he did at the start.

I almost picked this up cause Starfire...but then I flipped through and didn't see much of her and wasn't gonna pay $30 for little Starfire.

I'm that shallow.

A lot of Sup Forums is still really butthurt about it because they grew up with YJ, Tim, Conner, etc. Hence all the Timfags on here.

That sums up most of DC's line when OYL happened.

>what is Busiek's Superman

Well, that's unfair, Busiek can do no wrong.

Does most mean all where you live?

Mediocre, just like every other DC book Busiek wrote except for Secret Identity.

I dropped it after the second arc fucked up Brother Blood beyond repair.

The whole point of Brother Blood is that he's super-villain version of Jim Jones. The occult elements are window dressing but not the main thing.

Jones killed off OG Brother Blood (who could have been brought back easily since the last time we saw him, Raven mindraped him and he was dropped off to at a goat farm by Azreal, who took pitty on him and wanted spare him jail) and even fucked up the ENTIRE reason why Blood was obsessed with Raven.

Blood had a thing for Raven, not because he secretly worshipped Trigon, but because he coveted her empathic powers.

First time I read it as a teenager I loved it.

As an adult? Eeehhh it's better than a lot of Teen Titans stuff but that's not saying much although it really went downhill after Infinite Crisis. I still liked PAD's Young Justice better and I read it after I read John's TT.

I wish it had more time to flesh out before Infinite Crisis happened.

He wrote Trinity

>96399311
Trinity focused stories have always been shit, but bump off Wonder Woman and suddenly writers can do better stuff with Superman/Batman.

Diana is truly the third wheel.

Trinity wasn't particularly focused on the three of them, though.

It was mostly about.. shit, like a version of Evil Counterparts to them, and Gangbuster. It was long and mediocre and probably would have been better as like a 12 issue series because Weekly books always suffer.

it was nice,i like it,but i cant speak without nostalgia googles

It's alright I guess.

Any pics?

I thought it was okay-ish (at least the first 50 or so issues before it devolved into "lol another member's died or quit to be replaced with some literally who that you hate" every issue) until I read YJ and Impulse then I fucking hated it with a passion because then I became a massive Bartfag and a massive fag for any YJ member. Also Tim x Cassie was shit. Most of its redeemable qualities were done so much better in YJ. At least it had that one alternate future arc, Tim and Kon being gay for one another and Kid Devil going for it I guess.

Without reading YJ it was okay at best, I don't know why people are pretending it was anything more.

this guy reads comics.

>they make impulse not so much of a joke

Honestly bart moving on from being impulse was needed and could have been good

It's just the way it happened and Geoff Johns decision for him to be Kid Flash set him on a course for disaster.

A more mature bart struggling with people underestimating him something that's been happening since his first appearance and until his death actually and CREATING his own new superhero ID would have been nice

This and he's so obsessed I suspect that's why he made Bart Kid Flash just to get one on the team
