I hardly ever go back and rewatch a film but Hot Fuzz is an exception, I can watch it again and again and still enjoy it and find new little things. The audio commentary is great as well, one with the cast, one with the writers and director, even one with Wright and Tarantino

Was just thinking Matt & Trey wouldn't make a movie like this now. Not because they're pussies or because of their politics but because they'd not be willing to nuke their careers as much as they were back then

I honestly don't think they give a shit about their career anymore, considering they are worth around a billion dollars combined. They could retire whenever they wanted. They could easily afford making a $200M budget vanity project if they felt like it, not make any money from it, and still remain relatively unaffected.

The nazi incest blowjob scene particularly holds up.

>Rent reference at the start.

A few of the elements have dated themselves. Much like the occasional joke in an Airplane! movie or the Naked Gun films lose some of the punch line because it references something relatively current from when it came out.

Most people didn't really get the Rent joke when the film came out anyway.
