Its my favorite anime

classic hero's journey
lot's of little stories tied into a bigger overall arc

real question was why was this so shit

>Korra was bad meme
2013 called

>it's an "avatar thread immediately becomes a korra thread" episode
Please no

>anime

>tfw you dropped this for Wakfu

good decision

ehh the action scenes are good but were drawn out as well
all the action scenes in the original were short and to the point

it became better after it ended?
yeah that makes sense

This along with good characters, sold animation, and outstanding world building make it a classic

no white people

Who would win? Could air benders even do anything against lightning?

Attached: irohtenzin.jpg (1440x808, 152K)

name a single good sequel, spinoff or follow up

Attached: 1521956087208.jpg (500x500, 22K)

Because you were 12 at the time.
It’s not your fault, and it certainly isn’t the worst children’s program, but it’s almost exclusively that; A children’s program.

I don't think there was a single character I disliked, they all had their little arc and episode dedicated to them at one point or another

You move the air around the lightning

Season 3 was mediocre and the ending was the stupidity cherry on top. otherwise solid series.

Angel and Xena. Hopefully Wayward Sisters as well

Escape from Los Angeles

the lion turtle at the end talked in almost gibberish, that was frustrating

>we could have had a spinoff about adult Aang
>we got this
Feels bad

>suddenly lesbians

>Hopefully Wayward Sisters as well
It's going to be shit and you know it. At the very least it will be better than what Bloodlines would have been

>Season 3 was mediocre
but it had fantastic episodes prior to the invasion (The Puppetmaster, especially. Nightmares and Daydreams was great.) The Painted Lady was crappy. And then you have Zuko's God-tier redemption arc and Azula going batshit insane

that's the whole point of HOPING

Attached: dad hasnt been home for a few days.jpg (259x194, 5K)

Yeah there was just a little too much filler episodes for me but overall yes well paced and well written. Also good music. The siege of the northern water temple is probably my favorite scene because the music just fits so well

>forgetting about The Tales of Ba Sing Se

Man I was legitimately depressed when this series ended. I mean it felt like full on grieving for weeks. Like a family member had died or something. Pretty embarrassing too because it's a children's show and I was going into my senior year of high school at the time.

Probably because you had too high expectations, it went against your headcanon or you're a triggered Sup Forumstard. Except for the love triangle shit, the show was great.

>Tales of Ba Sing Se
>Book 3

Attached: consider the following azula.jpg (816x639, 271K)

I didn't watch it till I was in my early 30s and I fucking love it. Don't feel bad

Leaves from the vine...

I remember watching this series while painting 40k Space Marine models in my basement. I was watching it on a shitty 12 inch box tv every weeknight, but god damn it was comfy as fuck.

BASED ATLA

So donald drung

Only time I ever cried watching TV

>le korra was bad meme
kys fag

Novel setting

Great characters

Because it was so interesting even a filler episode of the gang walking around a town was worthwhile

>tfw no delicious brown gf

Attached: Master Race.jpg (820x820, 224K)

legitimately spooky

Attached: Aang_enfrenta_a_Koh.png (200x149, 33K)

whats sad is the story was amazing i just wish it done with real anime like jap anime style u know... or make theoverall vibe of the show more dark and mysterious... like i binge watched the shit out if it but only cuz the story was good... bad animation

try posting a smaller picture you dumb beaner

based

Really liked the animation in that episode.

>autism

More or less this. Most shows take risks by throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks (LoK) but AtLA took classic stories, polished them and built from there. The three books werent multiple interconnected but instead one large narrative centered around smaller goals all leading up to the inevitable clash with the Fire Lord.

same here, i watched s2 over a day and the next day i could feel an awful pit in my stomach while finishing s3 because i knew it'd be over. afterwards i couldn't even eat, it was like i had anxiety or something. and i was the same age as you.

It was the setting. With Avatar you got an adventure. Every episode you got to see new places and people and learn more about this awesome world they created. With Korra you got "Here is this city. It has anti-bender protesters and some shitty sport game. Hope that sounds really interesting because that's all you are going to see for the next 20 episodes".

No. It's because you were old when you saw it and you were comparing it to unreachable standards. Fucking idiots

I was old when I saw the original series too, Korra is pointless garbage in comparison

>a good setting is an unreachable standard

If you say so.

keep trolling Sup Forumstard, you might bait someone

user you gotta be more subtle that shit's not gonna work

It's okay to cater to your fanbase, as long as they are on tumblr and noisy as hell. Otherwise it's sexist.

I think the city decision could have been fine. Urban exploration can be a thing too.

I feel strongly though that they level upped the technology of the Avatar world way to much for Korra, and subsequently made it too much like real life. There is no wonder there. But they seemed to quickly abandon whatever plans they had for a steampunk city that could be fantastical adventure after a couple episodes. Then it was just a superhero city of townsville with bending instead of capes and flying.

why was this so bad

Shamaladindong during his depression era, current M. Night would make it kino

Who seriously put the time in to shop a fake A:TLA poster?

This. Why can't TV produce nice things anymore?

We used to have Teen Titans, Jackie Chan, Danny Phantom. Bunch other stuff I am probably forgetting about. The last one was Gravity Falls, and it only got 2 season and it wasn't even that good.

Haha, have a (You) on me good sir XD

*tips soybottle respectfully*

Fraiser

I know that feel bro, kids from the current generation will never know what it's like to run home from school, hooking yourself up with some cookie crisps and watching the newest episode of Recess stting on your grampa's lap

Attached: 1521491639001.jpg (1199x1200, 237K)

Cuz micheal Dante dimartino is lit

I am thinking I might have to rewatch Avatar pretty soon. But then I would feel obligated to rewatch Korra and I am not sure if I want to do that again.

Dragonball Z

just dont watch korra

Mate you can't just watch an entire series and not the direct sequel. That shit aint legal.

Season 3 is a pleb filter, and the ending was fine.

i do it all the time

just watch the cool fights and thats all you need from lok

Attached: wojak ang.jpg (1600x900, 98K)

get the 1080p remaster

>tfw finally finished Four Elements Trainer book 2

Attached: azula derp.jpg (288x308, 9K)

I used to cover my eyes when this came on as a kid

yeah sequels are always top tier entertainment, ALWAYS

>But then I would feel obligated to rewatch Korra
You can watch Star Wars and not feel obligated to watch the prequels

>TLA
>Toph is a child prodigy who is an Earthbending master at the age of 12, is royalty, literally invented a new form of bending, and has sonar vision even though she’s blind
>Katara is a child prodigy who is able to go toe to toe with a water bending master even though she was shit at it in the beginning and was outshined by Aang learning the water whip on his first try, then somehow miraculously improves so much that she is deemed a waterbending master skilled enough to train the Avatar, then gains blood bending powers
>Sokka is a child prodigy who basically invents mechanized blimps that get stolen by the Fire Nation, then becomes a war strategist even though he had no experience
>Azula is a child prodigy who is so powerful she uses BLUE FIRE and can literally fly, flawlessly learns how to fire lightning while Zuko struggles to redirect it, and basically manipulates the CIA of the Earth Kingdom
>Aang is a child prodigy who became an airbending master at the age of 12, learned most of the fundamentals of bending within a year, basically crushes everyone simply by accessing the avatar state, and gained super special lion turtle powers when all of the other avatars told him he needed to kill Ozai. He suffers virtually no conseuqneces for any of his mistakes, even when Azula nearly "kills" him and cuts off his access to the Avatar state he get resurrected completely and regains access to it without much trouble.

>Korra
>Korra is a the new Avatar who mastered 3 of the 4 elements after 13 years of training (compared to Roku's 12 years). Even though she's a young avatar she doesn't understand the spiritual aspect of bending and is also too emotionally immature to assume the responsibilities of being the Avatar, causing her to make mistakes constantly and suffer the consequences of her actions. This culminates in her getting poisoned at the end of Season 3, which renders her disabled for 3 years and causes issues for her in Season 4 when she's rusty with fighting

people here are sure they will rewatch Pacific Rim some time in the future but never watch the sequel again

it's ok

>tfw 112 years old and still a virgin

Aside from the obvious writing and acting flaws, it tried to be the next Lord of the Rings and took itself way too seriously in the process.

Attached: normal girl.jpg (480x360, 11K)

>Bolin is a prodigy who becomes one of the only lava benders in the world and becomes a movie star
>Asami is a prodigy who helps invent robots and pulls her company out of bankruptcy
>Amon is a prodigy who can bloodbend whenever he wants and can take away bending

Really thought, why make the fire nation dark skinned and the water tribe white skinned, instead of asian and white skinned, respectively? This fucking doesn't make sense.

Attached: 1494687721958.jpg (396x385, 78K)

*asian and darks kinned

SW:ESB

I dropped the first one because they spent so long not focusing on the giant robots desu

Wasn't it meant to be eskimos and japenese anyway

Legitimately well written character development. Series does that better than most shows in the medium.

uncultured pleb

Attached: Breakin2[1].jpg (259x384, 23K)

>tfw it set itself up for a sequel that never happened

The Ben 10 series where they were teens was pretty decent

youtube.com/watch?v=f9spft2_Xh4

awwwwwwwww... YOUUU

He probably thought nigger eskimos was unrealistic. Remember he portrayed the elemental bending with "real life limitations" like fire not coming out of nowhere or rocks moving really slowly

you didn't even name the best cartoon kino

Attached: 1053.jpg (240x300, 67K)

>The Ben 10 series where they were teens was pretty decent
no it wasn't
turned gwen into a manjawed skeleton

Maybe M. Night identified with the Fire Nation and made them self-inserts.

>it's a "the person who is the biggest asshole on the team becomes a master first because" episode
i hate this episode

remember when they made a new series

I don't remember that big guy being the show

World building and character development. And a really tight focused plot stretched out over a few seasons.

The power system is unique and interesting. The different nations are fun to see revealed. The main team is a tight knit little group with good chemistry that occasionally takes on new members over the series. Characters grow over time. Aang masters the elements, Katara becomes a badass, Zuko switches sides, etc. The final battle with the fire nation is a fucking masterpiece.
