Pacific Rim Uprising

What the hell? This was surprisingly good. Let's try and have a discussion about it.

Let's not.

it was suprisingly slow you mean. I came here to watch giant robots fight giant monsters, not to watch some bullshit. a hour and a half of nothing but big things beating the shit out of each other is all we need from this franchise.

Lets not and say we did.

WAR READY

It had some good concepts who suffered from poor execution. And it just went the usual hollywood sequel root where they retcon their own continuity because they forgot about the previous movie.

>The kaijus’ goal was to reach Mt. Fuji since the first movie
>They kept throwing them into every other direction but let’s pretend now they didn’t
I mean come on

i liked it but i get why everyone else didnt

yeah

You didn't actually see it, it had a ridiculous ammount of fighting, at least 5 times more than the first one.

Not that it's a positive to me, it felt the movie in general was too unnecessarily frantic.

No it wasn't. Go back to your containment thread

The scrapper chase doesn't count as a fighting. The training doesn't count. When the droids go rampage there isn't much of a fight, the pilots get killed/injured almost offscreen and than they deactivate the droids. So we have the fight between Gypsy and Obsidian Fury twice and than the final battle.

>10 second training simulation
>5 minutes Gypsy VS Obsidian round 1
>5 minutes Gypsy VS Obsidian round 2
>5 minute montage of evil robots destroying base
>15 minute climax 3 Kaiju VS 4 1/2 Jaegers
>Pacific Rim Uprising Runtime: 1 hour and 50 minutes
>Actual fight time: 30 minutes and 10 seconds

They count.

Why would you put Boyega on the front? He looks like shit, specially in that suit.

Because he made the movie
No really, seems most of the shit changes were his doing.

Because he is the producer. This is a vanity project. By playing Pentecost's son he saying the audience that he is as good as an actor as Idris Elba (he isn't). They quote/mock Pentecost's speech at least twice.

It's only the preview poster featuring him. All the other posters feature the Jaegers in Tokyo from the climax of the movie.

>good
y'all stupid shit eaters

But he contextualizes that he's not going to make one as good so it's okay ;)

Fucking shit. It was a decent movie. Let's talk, if you want.

No. I hate you.

>you better watch it for my boy cracka

And the post-credits scene implies yet another movie with Boyega.
What a time to be alive.

>bland Scott Eastwood
Eastwood jr was the best part of the movie. It baffles me that Hollywood doesn't give the guy more jobs. They already stripped of his rightful role as Roland in The Dark Tower.
