I bet the future will have VR cinemas that are basically just a stream, except instead of seeing the other people's comments you instead hear them do awful comments every second in an attempt to come up with something funny, necessitating the mute function every time unless you share a password-locked room with your family. It'd be a hell of a lot cheaper than running a physical cinema, and future VR-rigs will probably be able to deliver some stellar immersion. Also easier to get all your friends/family to watch a movie together, earning the companies more ticket sales, because you no longer need to physically meet up at the time the cinema decides to air the show.

They're not participating in film as a medium, so why should anyone have to go out of their way to include them, and why should Netflix be allowed to publicize its films and platform when they don't even screen in cinema? Amazon releases their films in theaters as well as their own platform.
