No point in feigning surprise.
You knew we would be getting in touch with you. Why else would you come to a waterfront dive like this?

I sometikes wonder how weird this movie must seem to someone who knows nothing about William S. Burroughs or the books he wrote.
that was my first experience of it. pretty fucking weird.
i watched it when i was 11. that centipedo rape scene freaked me the fuck out
Really weird. This was unironically my favourite film when I was a child.

breakfast of champions
The Naked Lunch.
Naked Lunch, it's was in the new RedLetterMedia re:View
My Dinner with Benway (nude)
Absolutely bewildering. Got me into reading Burroughs and doing morphine.
I can’t tell if this is cronenberg’s best or worst movie. It’s just so strange
I've watched it because of Cronenberg. Is the book worth reading? Also any recommendations of Burroughs work?
The books interesting but it's not really like the movie in any significant way. The movie's pretty much about Burroughs writing the book told through iconography of the book. The book doesn't exactly have a narrative it's... well, mostly literal drug fueled ramblings, thougb incredibly well written ones. There are recurring characters, kinda, and recurring motives, kinda, but there's no plot and even when the book seems to be following a coherent thought it might cut away from it mid sentence and very often does.
You wanna get into Burroughs, start with Junkie. It's perfectly coherent and paints a pretty resonant picture of a very particukar sort of person in a very particular subculture in a very particular place at a very particular time. Then move on to Yage Letters. If you're still on board with it, give Naked Lunch a try.
>Now, repeat after me: "Homosexuality is the best all-round cover an agent ever had."
It was? Is there a link?
If I ever ran to that arseface in a bar I'd throw my typewriter at him and run for it.
don't do it, there would be hell to pay
BASED
Pretty cunting bizzare
The book is shit. The film is less shit.
