yes and double dubs confirm

no
it's better than the first

Not really. Just some lazy writing. Paul/Taylor could've been left out this season and nothing would change

It's pretty bad

not really

Only if you're autistic. Which I am. So yes.

people hated it not because it was bad. They hated it because it was different than first season.

you know i'm right.

season 2 is better than season 1 t b h
its just harder to follow for the most part.
season 1 was good but its hella overrated, green ears spaghetti monster LMAO

>green ears spaghetti monster
WAIT WHAT IF HE WAS PAINTING HIS SHACK AND ACIDENTALLY SPILLED SOME GREEN PAINT ON HIS FACE?

RUST YOU ARE GENIUS

this is kino according to reddit

>Paul/Taylor could've been left out this season and nothing would change

Gaycop and Vinceposting were the only enjoyable things that came out of S2, prove me wrong

>its just harder to follow for the most part

Yeah, it's a lot better when you binge watch instead of watching week to week

(you)

Tried rewatching a couple of months ago and couldn't get through the first episode. There's not even any paranormal elements to the season, it's literally just a cop show.

>better conspiracy
>better music
>more characters
>better drama

s2 > s1

>there are no ghosts
what a legit critique my man

you can tell it was edited post completion

why the plot makes little sense

rachel mcadams and vince vaughan are trash actors. the direction and cinematography was amateur compared to s1. painfully corny dialogue. stop being a pleb

>There's not even any paranormal elements to the season

It's literally why most people watched the first season, soyqueen.

it's this

have at it shills

man the way they wrap up that scene with Elvis in the bar at the end was pure kino

there's a god tier gun fight in season 2. some pretty decent characters. but to even mention it in the same sentence as season one is absolute blasphemy.

Name one paranormal thing that happens in the second season.

>you can tell it was edited post completion
>why the plot makes little sense

It's neo-noir, it's supposed to be convoluted as fuck

It's better than the first season.
The fact that critics branded it one of the worst shows to air in 2015, and for HBO to come out and apologise for it, is outrageous.

There are though. There's the premonition after his near death experience where he saw his father and predicted his death.

vince vaugh sucks

>why the plot makes little sense
the plot literally makes perfect sense. season 1 on the other hand was full of plot convenience

>Shitty Intro Song
>Horrible Dialogue
>Worse Cinematography/Visuals

>Lets himself get killed over a fucking suit

False
youtube.com/watch?v=YtmJgsPJ6Tw

It's literally just because they hated Pizzolatto for calling their criticism stupid and not casting minorities. Goddamn critics.

>being a fucking Guardian critic
Reminder that True Detective s2 was apparently too smart for the audience. Never forget:
>Frank still has the diamonds on him, and could have escaped alive and still fairly wealthy (though he does face a treacherous walk out of the desert) but such is his pride that he can’t take the demand from one of the Mexicans that he hand over his own suit lying down.
theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/tvandradioblog/2015/aug/10/true-detective-season-two-episode-eight-recap-omega-station

Ray was the best character

Tell me what that portion of the review is wrong.

Ray is genuinely the best character in a tv show ever.
Gaycop was still good though

Attached: 2015_06_22_58_milk.lady.990e2[1].png (1200x674, 851K)

>being this much of a brainlet
Frank doesn't refuse to give the Mexican the suit because of pride - he refuses to hand it over because it's got the diamonds in it (which the reviewer has even written in the same fucking sentence)

objectively bad opinions

That was a hallucination that never came up again in the show and was never referenced again in any way. The entirety of season 1 revolves around a cult sacrificing kids to a demon.

youtube.com/watch?v=axA2wQ2fJtk

lmao yes

it's actually better than s1 imo. it's more like a live-action graphic novel, i got bored with s1 after a couple viewings but s2 really grew on me despite my initial ambivalence.

I wouldn't go that far, but I certainly thought he was the best thing out of both seasons

So your argument is that it was ok for him to lose his life and never see his wife again because he wanted to keep the diamonds?

>better conspiracy
Pagan child rape Illuminati was better than corrupt cops and jewel thieves
>Better music
I can agree
>More characters
Not always a good thing, S2 felt cluttered
>Better drama
Yea

Season 1 really captured the feeling of man being the most dangerous creature, Season 2 just felt like a cliche corruption story

its both

He needed the diamonds to see his wife. He has no money, he is relying on the diamonds.
Watch the show next time

>That was a hallucination
it was a optical illusion that was seen by TWO characters.

>he entirety of season 1 revolves around a cult sacrificing kids to a demon.
that is not even what happens in season 1 lmao

No, but don't expect it to be on par with season 1.

>corrupt cops and jewel thieves
what a brainlet

Attached: true-detective-bush$large[1].jpg (850x454, 78K)

>Some people say it's not the size of the boat but rather the motion of the ocean. Well guess what, Ray? I can't swim. Never even had a bath. Caspere knew this.

ill just leave this here

Dude the first season's intro song was way better than the shitty cuck whisper intro song of season 2
The "Don't do anything out of hunger not even eat" dialogue was so psuedo-intellectual that it became a meme known as Vinceposting.
And yes, the cinematography and visuals of the first seasons were better because it had the supernatural/Cole's tripping out which added some ambiance to the show.

Now, I like Season 2- but I love Season 1. I think they're completely different shows and Season 2 is better than 90% of the trash on regular tv- but it is way shittier than Season 1.

Attached: 1521576357084.png (1242x2208, 1.99M)

Story is pretty bad because Pizzaman had to bang out a script in a fraction of the time he did for S1. Otherwise is pretty well put together and well acted. Final episode is probably the best episode in either season.

>Leonard Cohen is for cucks
>psuedo-intellectual
It's almost like that's the character.
And are you really pretending the cinematography of season 2 was bad?

>unironically using cuck as a adjective for things the doesnt like
why should anyone care about your opinion?

Season 2 was a mess. Even HBO admitted they rushed Pizzolatto to make the second season because they wanted quick shekels from the fans who liked the first season. People who think season 2 was better than the first are trolls, retared contrarians or just retards. Season 2 created vinceposting, so I'd say it was still worth it.

>Season 2 wasn't supernatural meme

Attached: Kino.png (1500x375, 881K)

Someone Vincepost. I loved that shit.

Counter this

its called pleb filter for a reason

Maybe I'll re-watch S2

Unpopular opinion
S2 > S1 because no Rust Cole

>Characters are bad because I disagree with their ideology

Attached: shit for brains.png (229x220, 4K)

Not as good as the first one, but not bad either. It struggles with setting up the various arcs during the first episodes but it picks up it's pace later, and unlike the shitty ending of Season 1, the finale is fantastic. The intrigue is apparently too complex for facebook-reddit crowd though.

What is there to counter? It's just a list of mediocre scenes and a couple of opinions without arguments. Season 2 was rushed in every way. Pic related, having a new producer for each episode makes the whole show a mess. There is a reason the season 2 didn't earn any awards. They had much more time to make the first season and it shows. Season 2 was good compared to most tv series but it's shit compared to the first season.

Attached: 22-33-00.png (1560x832, 167K)

The Frank Semyon memes were the only good things coming out of this season

*sheistering intensifies*

no
is it good? Also no

Im convinced pizza hut wrote it just around Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrel, but some HBO execs demanded more diversity so they tossed in gay cop (as based as he was) and Bezzirides to fill a quota

By any comparison other than the first season, it's pure kino.

Now YOU, my friend, are a real TRUE DETECTIVE!

Attached: gthmb-swingers-jpg.jpg (1200x897, 91K)

Explain how those scenes are in anyway mediocre.
The show didn't win awards when you'vr got people like this

there was no conspiracy, even though they set it up for a great one
>anni was raised by a cult
>capser being into some kinky shit
>gangsters trafficking girls
>police and political corruption

all traded in for lol some stolen diamonds. Even when they went under cover for the hooker party, all the girls said they were happy doing it. Such a waste

>see also: South Park season 20
EXACTLY.

'''Someone''' saw something in there they didn't want the public to see and edited the fuck out of it.

What do you mean it was "traded in"? The detectives don't even solve the conspiracy - it's too big for them and they fail. All of the corruption and depravity is still there.

s2 is a masterpiece of style and substance, only retards hated it because of "IT'S NOT IDENTICAL TO SEASON 1" idiocy. Actually, I think it is a proper follow up to the philosophy presented in season 1.

That's not really a flaw- his scenes added flavour and thematic consistency.

also it had a jew villain, showed california as a corrupt cesspit, shows the muh powerful womyn to be actually vulnerable and behaving that way as a result of childhood molestation, presents gayness in a character as a result of trauma and childhood abuse

most of the backlash was political

s2 is top notch Kino (much better than most movies)

I love season 2

>the direction and cinematography was amateur compared to s1

you are a fucking liar or you are fucking blind. The composition and the shots and the general directing was a billion times better in 2. Fucking liar

Tell me how those scenes are in any way noteworthy. I understand you want to be special with your contrarian opinions, but that doesn't make the second season any better.

>The show didn't win awards when you'vr got people like this
The show didn't win awards because it was rushed mess and everyone knew it. Somehow you don't want to admit this.

it's better, stop this stupid meme of s1 being better than s2

Wow great argument fagtron you sure convinced me with those hot opinions

>it's a standout surreal scene with fantastic action and an air of mystery that sticks with you throughout the rest of the show - made all the more powerful by the end
>a very tragic scene that fits perfectly in the show. It is a powerful final scene for Frank that leaves the viewer wishing for him to make it through the ordeal whilst knowing it'll never happen. The camera work where Frank 'dies' (though it's not revealed until afterwards) is a nice touch
>it's an engrossing shootout, unmatched by any tv show I can think of, and the final shot reveals 'where the characters are'
>the tension throughout the scene is fantastic and you don't know how things will end. The relationship between Frank and Ray really deepens as the scenes go on
>the camera work and choice of song make the mood almost palpable. That alone makes it fantastic, without going into the writing and characters
>sub-par Eyes Wide Shut but still a very effective scene where Ani appears to be in real danger and the audiences left on the edge of their seats wondering what she'll discover. Not to mention it has Rachel McAdams in that outfit.

Meant for

2 pleb for the show

yeah because you offered an argument, retard fuck

>Season2 brainlets still posting

>it's a standout surreal scene with fantastic action and an air of mystery that sticks with you throughout the rest of the show - made all the more powerful by the end
highly subjective
>a very tragic scene that fits perfectly in the show. It is a powerful final scene for Frank that leaves the viewer wishing for him to make it through the ordeal whilst knowing it'll never happen. The camera work where Frank 'dies' (though it's not revealed until afterwards) is a nice touch
It's not that special t b h
>it's an engrossing shootout, unmatched by any tv show I can think of, and the final shot reveals 'where the characters are'
the one-shot raiding of the housing projects in the first season was better
>the tension throughout the scene is fantastic and you don't know how things will end. The relationship between Frank and Ray really deepens as the scenes go on
they did have a good relationship that just isn't enough to make second season better
>the camera work and choice of song make the mood almost palpable. That alone makes it fantastic, without going into the writing and characters
overhyping a bit
>sub-par Eyes Wide Shut but still a very effective scene where Ani appears to be in real danger and the audiences left on the edge of their seats wondering what she'll discover. Not to mention it has Rachel McAdams in that outfit.
it wasn't nearly as interesting as the sinister cultist pedo shit in the first season although it was a very good scene

There weren't any paranormal elements in the first season either, retard. Did you think that Carcosa was actually fucking real? ahahahaha

>highly subjective
No shit - it's almost like appreciation of tv and film (not to mention every point you made in your post) is subjective.

These guys get it.

I still don't understand how did the Mexicans find Frank in the end. Iranians (?) gave him a new clean car, were they working with the mexicans?

S2 was fucking shit because too fucking bloated. I really didn't give a fuck about anyone besides Colin's and Vince's characters. Too many trivial subplots made it a fucking nightmare to watch.

generally the direction and editing is much worse, some of the writing is less tight because it's more ambitious than the first season but it's fantastic and powerful despite that. only disliked by people with political reasons and the people they've convinced, as well as betas who don't understand masculinity, which is the most prominent theme of the season. so no, its not "that bad" at all

Am I being trolled here? Do I actually have to rewatch this? I thought it was terrible when I watched it the first time but hey, ive got good taste.

there werent any paranormal activities in S1 either

i was told it was complete shit, but after watching, I think it's still better than 70% of shows out there
