Can somebody explain why this movie is considered so good? Usually even if I dislike a movie I can still see how it would be considered great by some people but in this case I literally cant see it, can somebody help me out here?

I hated this movie before it even began when I went to a screening and a black guy came out to speak to the theatre beforehand, only to rant snidely about how white critics couldn't understand or relate to the film. Sure enough it was absolute tripe without a hint of depth, originality or subtlety.
