Adulthood is liking Tom Cruise because he picks solid projects, keeps his crazy private life mostly out of his projects and although a Hollywood kiss ass like the rest of them he seems like a solid stand up guy.
Kinda shocked to realise that's the pattern I went through growing up watching his movies, although not necessarily "hating" so much as being weary. Can't wait for the next MI, the madman cant be stopped.
Tom Cruise is legit one of the nicest people on Hollywood. He has a pretty good track record now of helping people when he sees shit going down, from saving an entire family whose boat sunk in the Mediterranean, to accompanying to the hospital and paying the bill of a woman who was smashed by a hit and run driver in front of him.
I always liked tom cruise. I never gave a shit that he was a wacko scientologist because it had no effect on me. Let people do what they want in their personal lives, as long as it doesn't creep into their work.

If you're in your mid-late 20's, that's basically the order you saw Tom Cruise in. BAck 10 years ago when he tried to bring up more of his personal life, everyone ripped on him and made him a joke and it was popular to hate on him. Since then he massively pulled back and just threw himself into his work and tried his hardest to make his movies better. The last few Mission Impossibles are probably better than the first few, its such a weird series compared to most because they're all at least solid. If any one of those last few ones bombed it'd make him seem like a joke, but no, he just works at them to make sure they're solid.
