Insider here with some leaks of the upcoming Alita Battle Angel movie

> Was delayed because of audiences reaction to eyes
>New trailer will be shown this April showing off more of the world and some of Motorball and some of the fight between Alita and Grewshika
>Grewshika is played by Jackie Earl Haley and loves eating people's brains
>Hugo ends of not dying in the film and ends up joining as a soldier in the army for money and has a nickname, Figure 4.
>Cameron says he didn't want to kill him off because people would complain about him copying the ending of the titanic if they did that, so he combined Hugo and Figure Four's characters.
>Koyomi is not a baby in the film but a teenager with an attitude and dreams of meeting the mysterious leader of a band of rebels called Barjack.
>Vector ends up getting possessed by a scientist called Nova with nanomachines and becomes a monster that Alita fights in Motorball in the films climax
>Amok is played by Casper Van Diem and is basically Joshugon's character from the manga
>Chiren gets sold into parts in the films halfway point and after the credits the film reveals that she is rebuilt into a slave cyborg for Nova
>Chiren was also Ido's wife before their daughter died and she left him
>Alita was the name of the daughter which is what Ido names her after.

Who gives a shit?

If isn't animated it's going to be shit

why not just make it into a cgi movie with a stylized art direction, that way they can keep the eyes and other elements from the comic book

The trailer was terrible, the movie is going to be DOA. They better try to sell it to Netflix.

But then again, this isn't news to anyone: that's what hiring RR gets you.

Same reason why they included life-action Mowgli in the jungle book cgi movie, some folks think a fully animated movie is just for children and wouldn't watch it on principle

In western countries there is a stigma with animated films that aren’t geared towards children

no blood alita = no good alita

Sounds great, I cannot wait. Thanks for sharing!

>> Was delayed because of audiences reaction to eyes
does that mean they're making the eyes more "normal"?
i hope not
I hope they make everyone's eyes freakish

>tfw she's not named Gally
that original fucking american localisation.

The fuck are you talking about homie, these changes are shit.

Do they change the eyes back to normal or just try to improve on what they have?

That stigma exists for a reason. Most animated stuff made for an adult audience is created by and for sexually warped supernerds.

Yeah, I know. It’s just disappointing because there are a few good animated films from France and Japan that weren’t specifically made for neckbeards.

The eyes are a bit smaller than what they were.

>eating brains

I thought everyone was a machine in this story?

everyone knows its going to be shit, yo

they're all cyborgs with human brains unless they're from the hanging city.

>implying

So they redrew the eyes right

yes, that looks like shit.

They changed her name?

>dude, people seem to like these because they're nothing like american comics
>lets make them as much like american comics as we can in order to sell them!

I think viz can be blamed for popping the anime bubble early with shit localizations.

Good lord they are all terrible changes.

Hugo and figure 4? wtf that makes no sense.

oh so at the end of the day Cameron's a whore who couldn't stand up to focus groups

bump

>make bad decision
>focus groups indicate everyone thinks this is a bad decision

What, should he have gone for it anyway? The big goggley eyes serve no purpose in the live action version. They're just a stylistic choice in the drawn versions, because you can barely draw a photorealsitic person, much less hundreds of thousands of them in a reasonable time frame.

now they're going to look TOO small.

> make them a bit bigger
> no, that's too big
> no, now that's TOO SMALL

James Cameron finally loses his temper and releases the film as an Unreal Engine 4 script. "THERE. THAT SLIDER THERE. YOU can set the size of her fucking eyes. make them as big as dinner plates or small as raisins, i don't give a shit any more."

> dude where's the tit size slider

>Movies with tit sliders

I THINK YOU HAVE SOMETHING REVOLUTIONARY

Do we get to see Zalem or what?

They changed a bunch of names around for no good reason. The name of the main character should be "Gally", but the dipshits who translated the manga thought this wouldn't be marketable for some reason.
The ivory-tower Elysium cities in the sky and space are named "Jeru" and "Zalem". Guess (((who))) might take offense to that.

Why the fuck does Hollyjew keep trying to fuck with my weebshit. It never goes well and only ends up pissing fans off but they keep trying again and again

I think the only one that was actually decent was Speed Racer, everything else has been nothing but a steaming pile of garbage

I've been waiting for the live action akira adaption for years what's a few more until they actually get it off the ground

I remember knowing of a fully CGI Motorball short but I never saw it.

The uncanny Grand Canyon sized eyes killed any interest I had for this.

I haven't read the new Kodansha translation but apparently they wouldn't realign all the original names back in order. Too entrenched in our culture to market otherwise probably, or they're just lazy cunts.

Alita...
Why not just fucking Gally?

FFS I love cameron but this shit deserves to flop, time for him to eat humble pie.

>>Alita was the name of the daughter which is what Ido names her after.
Most cliche bullshit as fuck, they should have let the cat name thing.

Cameron movies only start with "A" or "T", I don't make the rules
