I have never seen this image in my life. Mind if i save it?

We don't care, Jack.

Felix the Cat sucks anyway and was overshadowed by BETTER cartoons.

talk about fig newtons! Yeah, go ahead!

Hey mac, that ain't right. Ya' think Cuphead's the only one thats tried to recreate that flescher style of animation? Think again.

This cartoon was EXPENSIVE to make!

Go ahead and watch this. WATCH IT.
See how wrong you are.

Twisted Tales tried to do too many things. It tried to be a full animation cartoon but didn't have the budget. It tried to be wacky and surreal but also easy-to-follow. It tried to be true to its roots and cache in on '90s trends.

It could have been good, but it wasn't.

>Muh 'golden era' garbage

Talk about being a pleb. :^)

>Whiskers on Felix
That's un-American, my friend.

>Watched every episode of TTTFTC
>Didn't regret it

You know how Sonic Boom's writing staff basically went the "fuck it, nobody is watching this lets go nuts" route? This is the Sonic Boom of the 90's.

I remember really liking this cartoon, then I watched the original and I was disappointed.

The voice change is a slight bit jarring but, yeah, it's a good cartoon.

The 60's cartoon is not the original. The originals are the shorts from the 20's/30's and Twisted Tales is often very much in the spirit of those. Love the original Felix and Twisted Tales Felix. Can't stand the "golly gee gosh I'm such a good morally upstanding boy/cat :)" 60's Felix.

>Can't stand the "golly gee gosh I'm such a good morally upstanding boy/cat :)" 60's Felix.

That was literally every TV-specific cartoon in the sixties.
Colonel Bleep set up such a standard and others ran with it.

I still can't believe that Felix's small fandom has its own elitists.

This image unnerves me a little

theres a huge discotheque between twisted and the 60's and it was really jarring as a kid. i remember watching twisted first on public access tv and then CN announced it was gona start showing classic felix and i got really exited but it turned out shit

The amount of times they took the piss on the 50s cartoon is hilarious

I love this cartoon, honestly. Totally underrated. It was especially good near the middle/end, like people have mentioned, it really ripped on the 60s show.
The episode where Felix jumps out of the cartoon because the animators forgot to draw the backgrounds was one of my favorites. Fluffy Bunny Show, of whatever it was called, is the best episode of the series.

how does it feel that Don Oriolo killed any chance of you having a proper revival, Mister Felix?

Lowkey glad Felix basically skipped out on early 00s shitty TV animation (cept for some Christmas special nobody remembers) and skipped the "early CG TV show" era. Nowadays if he came out with a new show, it'd be hard to fuck up unless the got an absolutely incompetent team.

>at one point Felix was the most popular cartoon in the world.

if they kickstarted a pilot or a couple episodes i would look at it and say hey, how about that, then forget about it after a couple days

Incompetent and lazy teams are the new trend yo.

I'd say that Felix being reduced to a mere merchandise icon in Dreamwork's hands still gives him better chances than remaining in Don's hands would.

Let's be honest - Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island used to be one of Don Oriolo's beloved children. With a legacy like that, any attempt to ressurect Felix on Don's behalf would just kill him even more.

Felix dealt with worse already.

>How popular of an image this is

I've been here nearly 8 years, and this is the first time I'm seeing it on this website. On the other hand, I have watched a lot of that cartoon, I know this scene is from The Time Twister episode.

Thom Adcox-Hernandez was the best Felix, Charlie Adler was alright, but Thom just had the best voice for the character.

Good cartoon, but I don't have much to say about it.

Artists on AoSTH also worked on Twisted Tales as did Martin Olsen

You mean the movie?

So it's like Adventures of Sonic but with a 30's wash on it.

>love Gargoyles
>watch reruns of Felix
>new Felix cartoon comes out
>mfw Lexington is Felix

where has this been all my life?

>discotheque
That's on hell of an autocorrection

Later he gets voiced by Charlie Adler doing his shitcan voice.

it was goodish

Okay.

thank you

I feel like Twisted Tales is AoStH with a better budget, and overall better writing. It's like what AoStH wanted to be.
Um, excuse me but pic related is the only real ship for Felix.

Aha, i'm so cool

This cartoon was fantastic. Came off the tail wind of Ren and Stumpy, just pure fun and nonsense, but in it's own surreal way.

Felix himself was really great, he was a little imp and had the cutest laugh.

There's a lot frankly genius parodies of the old felix cartoons. Like that episoide where they depict Felix's old enemies the Proffessor and Rockbottem as old, ugly, gay lovers.

Twisted tales suffered from a very troubled production due to too many cooks in the kitchen (Phil Roman wanted a show like Garfield and Friends, most of the artists wanted something old-shorts esque, Don Oriolo didn't like the fact that they were making fun of his dad's run, etc)
Charlie Adler didn't like the role because he ended up being caught up in the production bullshit himself

I liked that Twisted Tales was kind of a successor to Felix's original shorts in terms of their tone, humour and visuals. I never liked the cartoons after that era with Felix and his magic bag with the Professor and all that shit, but it's cool that they kind of incorporate stuff from those.

If Felix ever does get a revival, I hope to fuck it takes the same cues from this series.

This is terribly familiar. I mean, beyond the obvious cultural icon of Felix himself.

I must have watched this back in the day and completely forgotten.

why the fuck there isnt enough porn of her

i want her taking the big hippo dick from the haunted museum

They were VERY fucking blatant about it, too. The censors didn't give a fuck.

>Twisted tales suffered from a very troubled production due to too many cooks in the kitchen
You can tell. The episodes in this thread alone feel really strangely structured. Like someone was jerking the reigns around.

I guess there's always /aco/'s draw thread. Not that regular Sup Forums isn't perverted enough to do it.

It could've of been good if they'd gone with the concept CBS used in the earlier bumps based off the 60's version. Those were cool looking and what I was expecting and hyped for when TTTFTC was announced.
Instead we got that over-exaggerated, unfunny and painfully soundtracked old-timey hack job. And to add insult to injury all the girl's heads except the tomboy greaser were so huge it made them difficult to waifu.

>not any fucking porn about pic related.
disappointing

I feel like that this thread generally has the right attitude; each short should've focused more on one core concept/story and stuck to it. Just take a look at Woos Whoopee:
youtube.com/watch?v=sxailD4Ofq4
It's surreal as hell, but it sticks to the simple theme of Felix being utterly wasted and trying to get home. It doesn't try to flip the story from under your feet halfway through or anything, but it does get damn weird.

The Charlie Adler part I’ve never heard before. Elaborate?

Was this the show that had cartoon animals in a sewer prison with a light source from above? I vaguely remember seeing something like that when I was around 4 on TV at my Grandmother's house.

I dunno more than that

Because Russian bootleggers did the attention-giving for us. HET

Link to said bumps? I wanna see them, I've been on a bit of a Felix kick lately.

This guy's got most of them, listed as Transitions. (11 all told) They're extremely short and kind of spartan but the style just seems a lot cleaner and more on-concept to me:
youtube.com/channel/UCm2zRE1Wj_fLKIlpDx8uZtg/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

He's missing a few though like the second one of these:
youtube.com/watch?v=ZJCf-uHw6QQ

And another one I remember with a monster transformation that I can't find.

Thanks! Appreciate it.

>Coconut Fred
>Beloved by anybody

Rob Paulsen considered it his worst role.

yeah yeah, we all listen to the podcast

thanks for this

>Faux-nostalgiafag doesn't know how Felix's wife looked like or whether she existed at all

I meant HIS beloved children, user.
As in - that only HE loved it. :^)

Oh my god that blow up sex doll joke in the first 10 seconds

Sonic is a Felix the Cat OC
Literally me. I have vague memories of the spooky train episode but now that op is clear as day.

Holy shit that tranny. This show is hilarious.

my favorite gag in the opening's definitely that little girl and her balloon

>The first episode has a fucking KKK joke
>It isn't even subtle at all

They had too much fun with this show.

Holy shit, why did this show fail?

Smile, crocodile!

This is why older cartoons were better, they somehow managed to make jokes like these and not get in trouble

This needs a filename change

The same thing happened to me with this one.

This is me. Literally me. No other character can come close to relating to me like this. There is no way you can convince me this is not me. This character could not possibly be anymore me. It’s me, and nobody can convince me otherwise. If anyone approached me on the topic of this not possibly being me, then I immediately shut them down with overwhelming evidence that this character is me. This character is me, it is indisputable. Why anyone would try to argue that this character is not me is beyond me. If you held two pictures of me and this character side by side, you’d see no difference. I can safely look at this character every day and say “Yup, that’s me”. I can practically see this character every time I look at myself in the mirror. I go outside and people stop me to comment how similar I look and act to this character. I chuckle softly as I’m assured everyday this character is me in every way. I can smile each time I get out of bed every morning knowing that I’ve found my identity with this character and I know my place in this world. It’s really quite funny how similar this character is to me, it’s almost like we’re identical twins. When I first saw this character, I had an existential crisis. What if this character was the real me and I was the fictional being. What if this character actual became aware of my existence? Did this character have the ability to become self aware itself?

That game had a GOAT soundtrack for a bootleg.

I made a youtube poop of it once if that counts

youtube.com/watch?t=6s&v=SGL_WSs1Pvc

I remember you posting this a while back. Lost my sides at "Meaty!"

You glorious madman!

that's an ok poop

Hey Sup Forums, need some help here:
a few years ago there was video on YouTube that contained a live recording with live performance of a band named "Toychestra". They played music during the silent short "Felix Flirts with Fate" from 1926. It was recorded at the San Francisco silent film festival in 2012.
Two versions of the same event were online. The first one that I watched contained the complete short mentioned above, while the other one was shorter in length without the beginning (I think). and both versions are gone.

If any user has some info of what I'm talking about, or someone was crazy enough to download the videos while it was online, post it please. It was an awesome performance + a great short. And that live video was the only way to watch that rare short. No other version of this silent short is anywhere available online. Thanks to anyone who knows something about this.

>Dude, animation of today is doomed because balls-to-the-wall shit is being toned down by networks!

Now I know why people keep fellating John K. no matter how much of a scam artist and hack he is.

>Don Oriolo was behind Coconut Fred
What the fuck was he thinking?

This guy should've made an appearance.

I don't think so, Duke.

but it doesn't show us his peenus weanus

I think there was one episode where the villain of the week is revealing his backstory and there is this implication that he was gang-raped by squirrels.

>tfw will never get to make a genuine good reboot of older cartoon franchises like felix the cat (animated by japanese studios)

but japan already tried making a felix the cat series of their own.

That one was still produced by Don Oriolo. I have never checked it out, actually.

Wouldn't mind another series with similar quality as Pingu in the City.

>Wanting an animu'd up version of a western cartoon while there still hasn't been a decent post-2000 Felix

>All episodes on Youtube
>None have been striked for Copyright

Did they give up?

>they
Who's they?

The Copyright holders.

Why can't cartoons be this good nowadays?

youtube.com/watch?v=TjaOfPOK4kE

Jesus Christ, they fucking did it the absolute madmen.

Made a great show? Why yes they did.

MR BONES WILD RIDE

They stole it from a lot of people though.
But fuck me I think it helped them in the long run, no track in the game is bad. Kulor Ocean Floor has to be my fav though.

>That time when Felix gets cucked.

Also I used to have this episode in VHS

>hunting for the DVD box set
>it's harder to find than a prostitute in church
