All of the most popular shonen properties have characters with featureless faces, so it's way harder to replicate that look in live action.

2. Moderately known. The video gets a couple million views but with the attention span of people ruined, they go huh, that was fun and move to the next of the million of short movies available.
3. It gets viral and it gets picked up by corporations to cash in on its success for a week or so before the next thing is viral.

You don’t really predict a new trends/fads. One odd film does well, and everyone just makes rip-offs. A genre commonly lasts 10-15 years and becomes self aware towards the end.

Music artist here, about to debut my shit, though I've been involved in and had friends attempt it already. It's really baffling trying to imagine how anybody new breaks. You have to literally do everything yourself up until the point where "breaking" isn't even a huge jump anymore, where you already have a big fan base from working your ass off. Don't get me wrong, I'd still be doing this even if I saw the future and learned that it went nowhere, and it's not like I wouldn't enjoy playing hundreds of shows, it's just daunting. And that's with music, where you can actually have some type of venue early on. Can't imagine what indie film makers go through.

We're getting kaiju monster movies almost yearly now, we hardly ever got those out of Hollywood until Pac Rim, now they're being released, and even more importantly, they're generating profit. PR2, Rampage, KoTM, GvsKK are all coming out soon. I'm not saying they're gonna topple capeshit-- that's not even remotely possible. But it's expanding and generating interest in a genre that was, until relatively recently, a niche subject where Hollywood blockbusters were concerned.

Alternative indie-ish, like guitars but also drum machines, some electronic bass, some synth. I'd say it's closer to art rock actually, focus on lyrics. I dunno what genre to tell people without them getting the wrong idea because I purposefully tried to make it its own thing.
