ITT: Terrible casting choices or bullets dodged.
This creepy wormtongue looking fellow was going to be Aragorn until Jackson fired him after the first few scenes.

I'M GAY
Vitruvian Physique?
fili was actually pretty well casted (needed a longer beard) BUT WHY THE FUCK IS KILI A FUCKING PRETTY BOY ARAGORN RIP OFF REEEEEEE WHERE IS THE LONGER BEARD
because muh romance
Will Smith was almost going to play Neo.
I used to think he was a really good casting but looking back I find him lackluster. Not bad but not great either. Would have been better for him if the movie had focused more on Clark Kent.
He's just so painfully average. It's like "yea, looks supermanish, done"
jesse eisenberg as lex luthor
But also NOT casting Willem Dafoe as the Joker
He was legit only cast because he looks like Christopher Reeve.
I actually think he would have been alright.
Lol
David Liebe Hart was almost cast as Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Imagine that trainwreck!
Will Smith now as Neo in the remake could work I suppose unless they make him White in the remake
Could have been worse
wouldve been kino
This casting was actually pretty fucking good. At any rate, he's been the most convincing Clark Kent of all time, even a little better than Reeves.
Did you know that Andrew Robinson almost played Odo?
He'll finally get to play him in the Teen Titans Go movie.
And Sean Connery was offered the role of Morpheus.
Orlansdo Bloom in Kingdom of Heaven
Colin Farrell in Alexander
both damaged the films immeasurably
These. Orlando Bloom's fake beard was so fucking distracting to me. The director's cut would be approaching a 10/10 if not for his casting.
It's still good, just not as good as it could have been.
He could have been Indiana Jones.
The architect, not morpheus. Also gandalf.
I wonder, who would have been a good replacement for Orlando?
It pretty much struck right out of the field with all it's other casting choices
No he first was offered Morpheus, then later the architect.
wtf, how did they expect him to do the fighting scenes?
Eric Bana
I heard Brad Pitt was also considered for that role
Body double, he wasn't bound by physics in the Matrix so it maybe would have been even more awesome.
Eric Bane?
would he not be a better fir for neo
Was watching Fellowship earlier today with commentary and heard about this. I looked the guy up and I'm so glad they fired him. Vigo is better in every way.
You're reading my mind op. It's freaky stoppit.
The movie itself was shit, Routh was a solid pick.
Absolutely not
Nigga was too young, when Man of Steel came outh would have been the right age for him.
In Farrell's defense he's good in other movies but holy shit I have no idea what went wrong in Alexander
Great, this'll give me bara bear daddy nightmares for weeks...
I love Tom, but I honestly like Harrison Ford as Indy and can't picture the character any other way.
