Couldn't agree, this is maximum comf kino.
the brits dont look dressed for that weather. does anyone know if what they are wearing is accurate?
Military and navy winter uniforms are legit the warmest clothing on the planet. They are also pretty heavy due to all the layers.
Whole season relese when?
prob period-correct, but back then, the brits really underestimated the arctic and antarctic environments. they were often woefully unprepared when they undertook their expeditions
I really hope they get back out on the water. Something about the sound of that moving ship that's comfy.
One of them is an Irishman he doesn't need any clothing.
they're probably going to run out of booze soon and then he's fucked
i was wondering where i recognized the doctor from
The epic story of Britain trying to find finally something worthwhile about Canada and failing miserably.
Are the rest of the episodes released or did AMC lie about releasing the whole thing? Has this been confirmed yet or does nobody have AMC premiere?
it's not up on torrent sites, so i'm going to assume barely anyone has amc premiere.
They removed the date for when they show is going to be release for AMC premiere members. So they're probably lying
You're not part of the crew until your gums go black from scurvy and you only eat canned food and lead filled water.
From what I've heard from multiple sources the show has gone to great lengths to be VERY accurate, I know the book itself was very accurate as well. This is icekino m
About to watch the first episode of this, lads.
doesn't seem likely

Showrunners were on the writers panel podcast last week
I really feared upon hearing about the premises that this would be a BBC type show with le nigger captain and quirky bossy lesbian lieutnants or whatever
So I went in with no hype or expectations whatsoever and I'm beyond amazed to be honest
I just watched it, the hype is real for kino truly is back on the menu
>55 named characters
>western themed episode
they removed the date because it was yesterday
Either way they lied
This is kino
I would be shitting my pants down there
when someone who is both a xfinity customer and has an AMC premiere signature rips the episodes and uploads them
>navy uniform
speaking bout that, how does someone go from this...
Does the setting remind anyone of the ending of Frankenstein?
to this?
wait, is that really on a US Navy ship?
oh no no no no
Holy shit, im a book fag, i read this book and it was 1200 pages of awesome (i also read The Ritual which was great and slightly better than the movie).
But I just watched the first two episodes of the terror and I am blown away. My expectations have not only been subverted but exceeded.
The book was fantastic but so far the show if phenomenal. I can't get the retarded AMC website to fucking work so i streamed it on some other garbage website. But god damn bros it was good.
get your canned food, biscuits, shots of rum, and salted meat ready, because kino is back on the menu.
top look like a bunch of faggots.
bottom looks ready for war.
>this is what an amerimutt sounds like
Gods. Hopefully Amazon makes their recent purchase of kino novella to this standard. I am so surprised by AMC producing such quality considering the walking shite.
Wrong pole.
Spoiler, they all die. And a fee years later Roald Amundsen passed with this small ship
Between this, Saul and Badlands they have some good stuff
Holy shit a cable show thats actually good
>british navy
lol useless.
>in a cooking outfit with some cloth bolo tie
>ready for war
lmaoooooooo
Thank Ridley Scott's money for this, not AMC.
p.s.also i read the book on a camping trip during the winter. if you are interested in this kind of thing, seriously give it a try. Fully immerse yourself in it and you will not be disappointed. Our ancestors and forefathers endured some crazy brutal shit and it's it can be extremely fun to Larp & roll play like this. seriously. whatever im a faggot
look at that picture again, read the filename you stupid mutt
we all die faggot. only some of us truly live.
also your mom is a braphog. she will live forever in our hearts and noses
He used an actual steam ship nearly half a century later.
>that somehow changes what i said
ITT: shills or legit kino seafarers? I cannot tell. Tried watching 10 mins of this show, seemed stuffy and boringly English. What is GOOD about it? Or are you samefagging shills?
>shills
>kino
>10 mins
back to kid.
>10 minutes
lol look at that ADHD child
are kids this fucked now?
You don't belong on this board if your tolerance for pacing isn't higher than ten fucking minutes.
3-10 when?
Not an argument. Every post in this thread sounds the same. No specific attributes are praised. No holy shit moments. Why is this kino? If you can't put kino into words, it's not kino, it's content.
>mutt can't tell the british navy apart from the US navy
The best part is if you don't like you'll eventually go away
>No holy shit moments.
Fucking seriously?
I turned it off after 10 mins because I've been burned by AMC too many times. Das Boot is my fav movie, and LoArabia is second. Don't try to pigeonhole me faggot.
The atmosphere was good
production was great for AMC
good casting with a strong script
both delivers on setting up the story/characters and things to come.
Amazing score, breathtaking visuals and cinematography, a horror story that actually builds tension and doesn't reveal the malevolent force in the first 30 seconds.
Then watch a whole episode before you complain about it, soyboy.
Describe why it's kino. You won't. Because you're an AMC bot. Muh creaky ice ship feels, foh.
nigga Sup Forums is so starved for kino that when an actual good show emerges out of nowhere we flip the fuck out. i don't see any shills, they come when for damage control. this is not that. but you clearly have adhd an latent homosexual tendencies so we will cut you some slack from your usual capeshit obsession
very good so far and not a single nigger
In that case I'd honestly give it a little more time
Uh, did you not see the irishman?
well played.
>AMC finally hits gold again
>nobody can watch it
>have to wait weeks killing the tension of the show
Bravo AMC
Pilot no higher than 5/10 sowwee
>whiggers trying to divide the white population yet again
The captain has a pet monkey.
>nobody can watch it all at once
you could argue this for 99% of all tv shows
except they don't advertise the fact you can watch it all instantly for 9.99 shekels.
>Irish
>white
they're not lying, you need to be a xfinity(TM) customer and pay an extra 5 dollar for AMC Premiere (R)
Tucked in like that you'll soon be sound asleep, as you're watching one of the dullest mini-series on television. Seriously each episode following the Irish sea-captain and his pals from the Royal Navy's Discovery Service as they fight inclement weather and assorted polar entities has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make wonder unwondrous, to make action seem inert.
Perhaps the die was cast when Simmons vetoed the idea of Amazon developing the series; he made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody, just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for his books. The Terror as a novel might be anti-British (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-Alastair Reynolds series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.
>a-at least the book was good though
"No!"
The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."
I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Simmons' mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that he has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of "Olympos" by Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Dan Simmons at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read Dan Simmons you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.
I feel like binge watching kills the hype more than anything
I'm more excited watching once a week
It's like furiously fapping to get that fast nut vs edging for a long time
Even though the appeal of the quick reward is great, you know it's better to make it last and savor it
>only 2 episodes out
Why? This is the only good thing that has happened to me all week and if I can't watch all the episodes right now I'm going to kill myself.
nice pasta
nice pasta, where's the sauce?
Roald Amundsen did it in the 1900s. Franklin was in the 18 fucking 40s.
nice pasta, from which TV (((journalism))) website did you get it from?
Every fucking time.
nice adaptation
kys
"No!"
Now here's the level of feedback I requested, and I'm deciding not to watch this show now. This is what my instincts communicated to me in the first 10 minutes before dropping. AMC is kaput.
Kinda hesitant to watch this because the novel is the worst example of pay-per-word bloat I've ever seen. Plus it's not shot on location, right?
>>"No!"
>The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."
should have actually read the book and changed this to something appropriate though
Just got done with the first episode, fucking KINO. Any more available online in 1080p? I'm not watching anything lower, this show deserves it.

>Something about the sound of that moving ship that's comfy.
Nigga you need some motherfucking Hornblower
oh shit THE TORRENTS ARE not UP
Only two episodes out. Then you can join us in shitposting about when the rest of it leaks.
(You)
now go kys
God bless you, lad
I was expecting it to be a self-contained 2-hour movie. I didn't know that it was actually the pilot for a series.
instead of being a 2 hour movie it's a 8 hour movie cut in a bunch of pieces
