has any other movie ever come close to getting urban isolationism right?

>Travis is a walking contradiction. He hates the scuminess of New York but frequents porno theaters, and drives around prostitutes, talks about being healthy but drinks and pops pills. (...) The truth is, Travis is lonely, and as a result, he's a mish-mash of various ideologies.
>He's incapable of seing Betsy's dismissiveness as anything other than a superficial perception of his persona, and this is key to this character: Travis develops hatred for the lifestyles that reject him, and as a result his repressed egotism grows.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
>gran torino
nah he's just an old man
Living in a shifting city and culture that was isolating him.
Pusher 2 gets it right, in a certain way
that happens to every old person
It doesn't though. A lot of old people have friends, a lot of old people are connected to their families and a lot of old people can handle cultural shifts, like Walt does by the end of the film. You're retarded.
>Can you i-imagine being this troubled.
Ha-ha, o-of c-course not, that's ridiculous
Lol you haven't spent enough time with old people. There's a pretty good number of lonely old people who feel even more isolated with generation gaps.
translation: my family is shit and doesnt care about it's elderly members and I think it's normal
I actually don't have this problem in my family but it's hard to ignore when dealing with some old people and especially hard to ignore with those in retirement homes. Although there are some friendships made in retirement homes, it's depressing to see those who resent everything around them.
There's a reason why the bitter old man stereotype came to exist.
The Machinist.
not the capeshit you moron
2 Taxi Driver threads up right now.
I..is Sup Forums making a comeback?
Obviously bitter old people exist but they are ISOLATED for the most part, something you're admitting. Which is why Gran Torino, which takes place in Detroit, an URBAN area, is a film about URBAN ISOLATION. From my first reply to you "you're retarded".
yeah, Drive
>yeah, Drive
