This was so fucking boring, how did it make so much money?

And I can't remember a movie with a villain who really did so little and had so little screen time.

They made Kong smaller in the remake?

I didn't watch this because Jumanji never really got me.

It was man vs nature. Van Pelt was just a minion of the game

OOOOH BABY I LOVE YOUR WAYS
EVERYDAY

This movie was actually pretty good for a sequel.

Was original, had good characters, good action and some funny moments.

Down-to-earth characters, simple but interesting story idea, character arcs, fun action sequences and mundane sentiments. Everything a mid-range action movie needs to succeed.

It's not very complex, it's just well made.

How much time passes when they were in the game? The guy from 1996 said he was there for a few months, but it was really 20 years. If they were there for a day wouldn't that be a few months? (when they got out it was Christmas time, but I don't remember Christmas decorations on houses when they went in).

Just saw it for the first time yesterday and I enjoyed it more than I thought.
The exposition in the beginning is a bit stiff and could have used some more work. Also it lacked some of the heart and “warmth” from the original.
Other than that, it was a fun movie, where you don’t need to think but just enjoy.
The highlight of the movie was the four main characters. You can tell they enjoyed acting in it, and especially acting like insecure teenagers. Jack black is a great teenage girl, the rock is a great awkward nerd and Karen Gillan is a great awkward girl.

It’s a dumb fun movie; if you expected anything else it’s your own fault.

Zero competition. Hollywood cleared out two months for The Last Jedi, which under-performed by about half-a-billion dollars. Jumanji II picked up the difference by being in theaters at the same time.

They get sent back to the exact time they got sucked in the game. Like the kid from 1996 did, and Alan parish in the original.

its really comfy and could be the movie where your family comes over and have a good time

That awkward “you go girl” hug that The Rock makes caught me totally off guard and it made me laugh so hard.

It was "fun" in the actual way and not the "I'm going to adopt ridiculously low standards to convince myself this wasn't garbage (and that's a good thing)" way

Just a simple little movie. No preachiness, no agenda, just a bit of fun. People like fun. People saw as a welcomed change: just a movie they can sit down and enjoy without having to ""think"" about what it meant. Just a simple, fun, easily digestible movie. And these sorts of movies are quite rare these days. We at large take ourselves too seriously, and this movie helps us lighten up.

I kind of agree, I didn't love it (though the bantz between the 4 was good).

What I really didn't like was how the world of Jumanji was just a basic jungle with regular humans and a some earth animals. They could have done so much more with this visually.

Yeah, this. The highlight is the interaction between the four main characters.

How is this the same girl?

It was better than annihilation, TLJ, black panther, and that spiderman homecoming movie

Make-up, weight loss and facial muscle exercise

There was no political bullshit like the force is female. No subversions. People went in expecting a fun comedy and got a fun comedy. What is there not to like?

Pic unrelated.

I went in expecting nothing and got litty.

It was an enjoyable flick.
First one wasnt quite kino but miles better.
Jones was /fa/ as fuck though

they shilled the ABSOLUTE FUCK out of it on social media including this board

This and Black Panther are the highest grossing films of 2018.

Both are boring yet made millions or even billions.

Both take place in the jungle. Disney is making Jungle Cruise with the Rock next. They figured it out.

the dawn of JUNGLE KINO is upon us

The future is Blacque. And that's a good thing.

Van Pelt wasn't the villain you idiot, the game was, and the whole movie is centred on the characters surviving against the game.

its an enjoyable flick with fun characters. pretty much the perfect 6-7/10 film everybody likes. acting is better than expected, there is no shitty political message in it and most of the jokes work. its the peak of normiekino.

Having the main threat be generic mercenaries in all black was cheap.

i think that was part of the joke with videogames

And Sarah, you sexist pig

It was meant to be a cliche, user.
