David bowie biography film

when (because its gonna happen eventually) a film depicting david bowie's life is made, who do you think would be the best actor to portray him?

just rip off i'm not there and have multiple actors, including tilda swinton and gary oldman

Rami Malek

It shouldn't happen, but if it does, they should just rip off I'm Not There and hire a bunch of different actors

Idris Elba

Idris Elba

They should have that tea pot from Twin Peaks play him

Yeah this is the only way a Bowie movie would work

This. Include Swinton, Malek, and DeHaan.

should be me, I do a really good bowie impression and all my friends love it

vocaroo it

It will happen but there will never be a definitive Bowie film. Like the Beatles, maybe even more so, there is no way to capture that man in a single film (like Walk the Line for Johnny Cash). At least we have The Man who Fell to Earth and Labyrinth... and Scary Monsters. That's a fucking good album.

okay man give me some TIME

I think you could make a kickass psychological horror film influenced by all the crazy shit that happened during his Station To Station days

Seeing Satan crawling out of the swimming pool while Bowie phones his wife sounds neat

Young Ralph Fiennes

Came here to say Tilda Swinton, seems others beat me to the punch.

aside from the fact that tilda swinton is basically a female david bowie clone, i dont see why a woman should be playing a man in a movie. the only argument i would have for that is that a lot of his performance characters had an androgynous feel to them

Horror thriller ranging from space oddity to blackstar, based around the life of an (unrelated) junkie coping with his increasing visions during rehab and his work on the showbiz, going full eyes wide shut and beyond towards the end
A man can dream

Yeah, it's the androgyny

>6 actors playing the same person
Wtf that's kino how come I've never heard of it? Is it a shitty movie?

nah it was done pretty well imo

Movie could even use this nice cover by Bowie

>be the best actor
an Oxford educated Bantu

why fight it anymore?

Cate Blanchett unironically

>i dont see why a woman should be playing a man in a movie.
For someone like David Bowie, who the fuck cares about the gender of the performer? Dude was practically an alien. Performance is the most important part.

Where the fuck is it, nignog?

>He should be played by le woman because le androgyny XD
Kys faggots. Thin white duke era Bowie and 80's-00's Bowie was manly as fuck

Jim Carrey
That way he could channel the real Bowie and we could all get to know how it really happened.

It'd end up looking like Walk Hard, why bother.

Why do you lie to yourself

She already did in that music video they did together.
It had Andrej Pejic too.

Well made movie, but it's filled with too much fan service. Doesn't really get behind the mask so to speak

>behind the mask
maybe because there's nothing there?
when Dylan was given a show on SiriusXM, there was apparently a free episode floating around as an inducement to subscribe.

I listened for 10 minutes then turned it off, it was pure cringefest.

.

is he even a singer?

These could work really well because of the whole different persona thing Bowie had with each era of his music.

What is the velvet underground?
Velvet underground was actually directed by the same guy.

Bump

I’d really like a movie that actually focuses on his assistant Coco Schwab, who was pretty much the only person to work with him uninterrupted his entire career. Almost nothing is known about her and it could be really cool if done well.
