Would have been great as a self-contained story but they decided to turn it into a cash cow by making it open-ended for future seasons. It just wanders off into bullshit.

Not really. They just keep dangling the chink tranny's possibly scifi motivations in front of us but never really reveal anything. It's obvious that they're trying to drag it out and probably don't know how to end the story.

s3 is good, if you can make it through the end of s2 and start s3, it's much more fast paced overall

Season 1 very good. Season 2 meh. Season 3 very good too. Whiterose is a really good character.

To be honest, season 1 was so long ago I can't really compare the two. But season 3 has the characters' actions impacting on a much larger scale. Without spoiling anything, Angela actually gets shit done.

It's the best show on tv. It actually amazes me that The Return fanatics were going on about how it was "bringing surrealism back to tv" when shows like Mr Robot and The Leftovers exist.
There's no aspect of the show I particularly hate. The story is really interesting, as are the characters (how much they've been through throughout the show is pretty staggering); the acting is fantastic, it makes great use of music, and I've never seen a tv show with this kind of cinematography. Obviously it's heavily inspired by some movies and books, but I don't think there's ever been anything like it on tv.

I think season 3 is the best so far. Episode 4 and 5 are perfection imo.
Though give it a miss if you're easily triggered - Trump is talked about for less than 2 minutes but it made Sup Forums want to burn it at the stake.

It really doesn't. They're just circling around the same few plot points without approaching resolution in any meaningful way. It will end up like lost, you'll see. I guarantee the showrunners don't have a clue how their story is going to end.

How does it show that? Season 2 fits perfectly into season 3. Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it wasn't part of the plan.

I like it well enough. It's not even SJW as most people think; stuff like Billions are ten times worse. My mom couldn't get through 3 episodes, since she found the show "too lefty", which is weird since she's all about worker rights and shit, while I'm pretty right-wing. She loved Young Pope though (so did I, just to clarify). People are weird...

This sticks out to me as far as this show goes. I feel like most TV shows don't really try to get interesting cinematography in general. Sometimes some good shots here and there, but not like a movie. This show feels like a movie every episode and it's a refreshing change.
For some reason people associate that with being 'pretentious'. Someone wants their show to have a certain feel and look and it is suddenly pretentious somehow.

I really don't see what's super lefty about the show. I realize where Esmail leans, but It's about taking down big wig companies and their empires, not about politics.
