If Gert actually did it make back to her home what would be a good ending in your eyes for that scenario?

If Gert actually did it make back to her home what would be a good ending in your eyes for that scenario?

Kind of hard to imagine that good ending for Gert

The ending to Lord of the Rings.

what do we know about her relations with her parents?

Basically nothing. The only thing we see of her old life is the first page where she's getting sucked into the floor. But from that, I'd guess she was probably an ordinary 10 year old girl.

Also,
>Gert
>Good Ending
pick only one.

She's able to live her life over from the moment she was sucked into Fairyland without going to Fairyland.

Gert as she is now couldn't go back.

you think she'd ever miss her Senpai?

Given that she's currently dead, this is true.

Is #16 out yet?

Sure, but only if she then starts missing Fairyland and can't adapt to a normal lifestyle because of about 30 years of constant violence, or the diet of sugar catches up to her, or time just went on as normal in her absence.

It's not going to be a HAPPY return home. Though granted, a straight-up happy ending would be the kind of ending no one would really expect happening.

>what would be a good ending in your eyes for that scenario?
Gert going back alone would be blessing enough for all of fairyland

>good ending
Gert making it back to the same time period, still a child. As time passes her memory of the events fade until it feels like a dream.

>more likely ending
Gets back to her world still a child but thirty years passed. Her house is occupied by another family, her parents have moved on from her absence. She can't adjust to all of the changes from when she left nor can she act like an actual child after being trapped in fairyland for so long, so she returns to fuck shit up.

Honestly, other than the 'Gert forgets her time in Fairyland' ending, there's not really a 'happy' ending for Gert to go back to. She just wouldn't be able to adapt to a regular life again after all she's been through. It's far more likely that she'd just end up in jail somewhere after killing another kid, and everything about 'fairyland' is assumed to be a fantasy she made to repress the fact that she was molested or something.

I think the likeliest ending is simply that Gert never goes home. The comic ends with her still on her endless journey towards a way back to the real world.

Still, I'm hoping for a bittersweet ending. Gert gets back home, she's still a child, she forgets Fairyland, but it's still thirty years since she disappeared. Her parents are happy, but she'll never remember what happened to her.
Hell, throw in a younger/older sister at the end as a final twist, why not, we're already autistic.

>Hell, throw in a younger/older sister at the end as a final twist, why not, we're already autistic.
>Gert returns home
>Her parents are overjoyed their daughter has been found
>Tell her that over the years she's been gone, they've been fostering children and want to introduce her to their latest one
>It's Happy

This has literally been what all parties involved have wanted in the first place since the beginning of her time in Fairyland.

I feel like the ending if that does happen is that time has passed in the real world and everyone Gert knows is dead.

But Happy's dead, isn't she?

So is Gert

I haven't seen the latest story-related issue, so I don't know what you mean by this.

Gert becomes purely good again and gets killed. She's sent to hell and finds out Happy is the overlord of the domain

Happy Gert was a unique turning point

I must admit I did not see that coming at all. If you plan on reading I for yourself do not read this spoiler. It's a good surprise

I thought it would stick.

How did she get like that I get she was a bad kid but how did she get psychotic

Shes been stuck in Fairyland for years. Shes a full grown adult trapped in a childs body, and shes sick of this happy bullshit. Also I think she's getting high off those mushroom guards

We need more Queen Gertrude art

She was never a bad kid. She was a frightened, confused little girl who got sucked out of her room, badly hurt, and then tossed off into a puzzle-riddled epic to find a way back home.

After being given the umpteenth nonsensical quest that would supposedly give her the literal key back to Earth but actually turn out to be the next piece in an even bigger nonsensical quest, she lost all patience and a good portion of her sanity.

Years after that, she's been trying to find a way back home while rebelling against the non-stop saccharine parade that is Fairyland.

I really wanted it to stick for a while, have Gert start genuinely making some amends for her years of ravaging and mayhem, start winning people over.

... then flip things around. Instead we got Good Gert for all of half an issue.

All I have is some art of an older, but not-queen Gert.

Here's the official Evil Queen Gertrude.

...

...

The sad thing about IHFL is that while it has some of the best art of any ongoing book, it's writing is mostly on the mediocre end of things

Does anybody have the links to these comics anywhere? I've managed to catch a few storytimes, but I've missed out on probably about half of them

Skottie Young should be making cartoons

Finished it but the VFX might be a tad much.

Getting home to her parents would be the only thing that could be considered a good end. Of course as a comedy, I would not be surprised at all if she remains maladjusted.

I think the ultimate fuck you would be her finally getting home, only to rapidly age and decay the second she steps out to portal.

she destroys the fairyland and has justice finally be done for her kidnapping.

That makes no sense though, she's only been in Fairyland for about ~27 years, and even then we still have no clue about whether any noticeable time has passed on Earth since Gertrude got taken from it

It is possible. There's no confirmation about how time works in Fairyland and what would happen to Gertrude if she came back home.

And of course, she wouldn't decay as much as she'd age about 28 years and then bloat up into a giant, obese, diabetic mass, and would most likely promptly die.

Who says she won't be stuck there for 500 years till she finally gets out.

You need only ask.

...

Not nearly enough stuff with Queen Gert interacting with someone, especially in dominating flavor.

...

That is about it. Everything else is too risqué, or downright pornographic.

Amen to that. Evil dominant queens are best queens.

man, is this series worth reading? I've been wanting to check it out for a long while, I digged Skottie Young's art in New X-men (Rockslide is awesome, btw).

Yes and no.
Volume 1 good.
Volume 2 is pretty bland, and if you skipped it, you wouldn't miss out much.
Volume 3 is much better because it has a goal for Gert to try and reach.

The be fair, Gert has very poor problem solving skills.

She becomes so bored with the monotony of real life she goes back to wreck Fairyland.

nice

have a better reference for Queen Gertrude

Cool thread is still up, don't need to make another one

...

oh boy, a storytime

Might as well draw something since we're going to be here for a bit.

Any takers?

...

...

...

Queen Gertrude getting fitted for her new busty bod.

...

Gert and Carl on a date

Queen Gert leading the dragonboy from on a leash.

Either that, or Queen Gert petting the dragonboy in her lap.

...

Regular Gert or Queen Gert?

I'm noticing some disparity in which people prefer here.

Thanks for the storytime by the way.

...

That depends would Carl be an adult as well.

No prob. I've waiting to do this

...

Anyone who prefers Monster Squad to Goonies is a hipster
>Wolfman got nards XD

I fucking love these "x kills the y universe" books.

...

Feel like Deadpool been making them less special

...

...

>Feel like Deadpool been making them less special

I've been purposefully ignoring Deadpool since they ran him into the ground half a decade ago. Fucker had 4 ongoings and an appearance in one other book every week, and none of them was funny.

Way to drive something to the ground.

...

...

Spawn looks like Nergal here.

>the nineties sucked

ahahah fucking hell, this is hilarious.

>Cassie Hack gets killed

oh damn, she's a legit fun character who actually got closure. Also, the author was a lurker; he sneaked in Sup Forums memes into the book as early as 2006.
Literally the only character so far who I'm sad to see get killed.

Or just sad that her death wasn't sexier. Like make her lying in a pool of blood ass up with the baseball bat sticking out of her backside. Could've been a double gruesome since only those who know her would realize that the bat is in with the spiky end.

And we are back to the crop page

...

...

...

I'm sure I'll find a use for this.

...

Good Gert proves that she has very good problem solving skills. Her problem is that she lacks patience (probably) due to the general stress of being kidnapped away from her home into a strange land.

...

...

...

we've got plenty of stuff for Queen Gertrude as an adult, would be nice to maybe see some more stuff of her as a teen, Gert going through puberty in a place like Fairyland would be pretty interesting

I like the idea that Gert needs glasses, partly because of Splooge's drawings of teen & adult Gert wearing them

...

Bitchplanet
Invincible
Savage Dragon
Witchblade
Saga*4 (assuming girl left of Lying Cats ear is the ghost babysitter)
Southern Bastards
Bad Rock
Spawn

Anyone who can fill in the blanks?

The Posehn/Duggan run is breddy gud though. Except the issues that tie into [GENERIC EVENT]. They were solo written and pretty meh (Duggan, IIRC).

There's even character development and shit.

I'll find some kind of use out of this panel.

I will forever underestimate how hard it is to fucking draw on a tablet.

Welp, here you go.

I tried doing some new things but it didn't work out. Back to grinding the fundamentals I guess.

I hope you like it.

...

Gert looks fine, but Carl being in a more realistic style makes him look both kinda creepy and a lot older than he actually is when compared to Gert

Lol great

...

...

>This is way too meta for me
Exact thought I had up until I got to that page
