Well, Sup Forums?

well, Sup Forums?

Fuck off

gentoo

Sorry, but what does this have to do with kike gassing?

All I care about is Jews and how to gas them
get this shit back to IDK >>>/p
those fuckers deserve it

Gentoo
Weechat
Apache
Vim
Bash
AwesomeWM
MPV
MPD
clang

Pretty much all of them. Companies like Microsoft have been steadily making their products shittier and shittier with each update, so an open source clone from 5 years ago will probably end up being much better on top of being free.

Wut?

GIMP
SumatraPDF
Notepad++
Media Player Classic Home Cinema
Audacity
AVIDemux
Handbrake
qBittorrent
OpenXCOM
Process Hacker

firefox

ssh
scp
grep
awk
sed
vim
bash
ftp
git
yum

Chrome has more features than Edge, even though it's slower and shittier in general.

Shit programs except MPC-HC

>GIMP

No... Just no.

>Notepad++
Better than what? MS has a seriously sexy editor. You should have said Eclipse, but even that pales in comparison to good IDEs.

The rest, I can't argue with though.

>GIMP
Not even gonna bother with the rest of you list.

>GIMP
>better than PS

Austwitz.dedjews

Half of those are protocols faggot, not software

>better
I consider open source better than closed source by default... so all of them

github.com/coreos/etcd

the linux kernel

git version control

OP is a fucking retard, nice b8 m8

VLC

>MPC-HC

Do you have a dog in this fight? mpchc is SHIT! Try pot player.

GIS

Your mom's legs were open source for me last night LOL

>there are people on Sup Forums using windows and osx right now
>there are people on Sup Forums who don't have tape over their webcam and microphone
degenerates

openssh
filezilla
qbittorrent
thunderbird
evince
libreoffice (inb4 hurr shit .docx support docx is trash and not standardized. odf is better)
mpv
youtube-dl
hexchat
pacman

Audacity better than.... Adobe Audition???

Unix
Vim
Firefox
WinSCP
LAME
Audacity
Nginx
Wordpress
VLC
7-Zip

I can't name 10, but I've been using LibreOffice lately and Calc is worlds better than Excel.

>GIMP
oh fuck off. GIMP is cool but it doesn't even come close to PS. It can't even handle 16 bit images.

I will say that while Lightroom is still better, I've taken quite a liking to RawTherapee and I have a pretty good workflow with it. Surprisingly powerful and fleshed out for open source software.

free software is the best, good thread op. knowing basic linux server and networking are getting more and more important. learning curve is a bitch but I recommend it

>libreoffice
Wew

got me through high school and uni just fine. name ONE problem with it that isn't really just microsoft office format being retarded

there is literally no reason to use it other than if you can't afford ms office or are too retarded to pirate it. It is open source and definitely has the UX of an open source program.

Good thing counting wasnt on that list

GNU/Linux vs. Mac/Windows
Emacs vs. proprietary text editors
MPV vs. other video players
Libreboot vs. proprietary BIOS
Firefox vs. Google botnets
PCManFM (or really any GNU/Linux file browser)
7z and tar vs. zip and rar
Youtube-dl vs. those shitty online sites
i3wm vs. Windows and Mac window systems
OpenMW vs. Morrowind, just to add 11th

Reminder that proprietary software is the literal jew; (((Microsoft))) and (((Apple))) sell your data to the globalists
(((Richard Stallman))) is one of the few good jews that fight for your freedom from these globalist kikes

>can't name any issues
>says I can use Office instead
>makes vague and vacuous claim about UX
Funny thing is I was making a template for receipts for a small travel agency 2 years ago and needed to make the forms a static size.

Office 2007, 2010 couldn't do it, but Libreoffice could.

I saved that company probably 3000 sheets of paper a year with libreoffice over ms office.

>11th
Shit, I must have removed one
My point still stands

I would tell you but it took me 16 seconds

Openoffice

forgot to mention they used to print out their template then try to guess their text boxes and print on top of the template over and over until all their forms were between the lines.

huge waste of paper and ink IMO

> compares IDE to text editor with highlighting features

ssl
ssh
git
ls
apache
vim
bash
python
ruby
mplayer

Why are Sup Forums and Sup Forums threads mixing suddenly

Despite Commiefornia cucks and Silicon Valley, Sup Forums is pro-Trump
Sup Forums, /fit/, and Sup Forums crossposter here

What's "vacuous" about it? All of the Libreoffice programs have a completely un-intuitive user interface compared to any of the office programs.

NetBeans
FireFox
MPV
Deluge
CentOS (for server OS)
Apache
Foobar2000
7zip
laTEX
TOR

Ubuntu
Git
R/Rstudio
FileZilla
Latex
Transmission
Bash
Chromium
Python
Vim

Apache Open Office > Microsoft Office

literally just wrote a paper on this exact topic

>GIMP
LOL No circle tool!

If both are the same and one is free open source and the other costs hundreds of dollars (and charges you for new auto correction languages), the open source one is better

>all
>completely
>any
Using excessive amount of those kind of unjustified extremist adjectives are what make your posts seem vacuous.

It still delivers OP's request, get over it.

But they're obviously not the same otherwise everyone in the world would use Libreoffice. Props to the community for providing the free alternative but for the average joe and company containing average joe employees there is really no reason to force them through such a learning curve.

because we were bugging them about the ddos so they are taking revenge

...

>circle select

I struggle to think of 10 programs non open source (desktop programming is dead)

Closed source wins for me with: AutoCAD, and Solidworks

Linux(whatever distro) > Windows
especially if you are concerned about privacy.

all of the avaya and cisco call manager / cucm people would like to have a word with you for losing your sanity.
funny too because asterisk is full of race conditions and freepbx is the shit all of the cloud companies build off of.

0/10

fucking idiot android isn't open source

>java > c#

I wouldn't go so far as to call pure java opensource, otherwise you could say c# is opensource because of mono.

> vlc > iTunes

try foobar2000, then maybe we'll talk.

>solaris > ms server

Now you're just trolling.

the leaf speaks truth... unfortunately openbsd is canadian too. autismbsd.

Easy

Linux > Windows
GIMP > MS Paint
NP++ > MS Notepad
Chromium > MS Edge
MPV > Windows media player
Comix > Windows photo viewer
NCMPCPP > iTunes
Terminator > CMD
Deluge > uTorrent
i3wm > all closed source tiling WMs

Linux > Windows

yeah maybe if i could run anything fucking useful

Gimp >MS paint
anything beats ms paint. Now try photoshop

>but it costs money
if you cant pirate thy can fuck off

what exactly are you comparing GIMP to? fucking Paint?

You clearly don't know what Solaris is used for.

bootstrap

MS Paint and Notepad are th most basic essentials shipped with the computer

>Deluge > uTorrent
nope

It's crazy what international companies can achieve nowadays by using their market power, right?

It doesn't deliver you fucking idiot if GIMP is worse than any professional software.

Aside from that most of the equivalents I've used have been FOSS without having a closed source counterpart, there's nothing closed source that works like the FOSS sections of Chef for instance.
