To be honest though, the bantu tribes (Zulu, Zhosa, Sotho) settled Natal and some areas a bit further south at about the same time the Dutch settled the Cape.

The interior was pretty much uninhabited though. And the few scattered tribes that migrated there were wiped out by Shaka Zulu and Mzilikazi.
