Why dumb writers are so loved by the big companies?

Why dumb writers are so loved by the big companies?
Johns is one of the most successful writers and his events are the definition of brainlet crap. People like him, bendis and Loeb are probably as dumb and ignorant as your average Sup Forums manchild.

>Capeshit reader whining about brainlets

>Why dumb writers are so loved by the big companies?
> probably as dumb and ignorant as your average Sup Forums manchild.

Always nice to see OP answer their own question.

Guess he's as dumb and ignorant as your average Sup Forums manchild, too.

>eople like him, bendis and Loeb are probably as dumb and ignorant as your average Sup Forums manchild.
You answered your own question.
In the case of Loeb and Bendis, I think it's just a case of hack writers that found a niche to exploit.
The case of Johns is just the biggest and worst example of how fanboys took over the industry, which is the main reason for its steep quality decline.

Bendis admits that it's a boys club situation. Whoever gets along the best with the editorial heads, and department leads is the one who gets the most attention. Although he didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with this.

This thread is proof that nobody on Sup Forums actually likes cape comics.

Johns' events aren't any more or less dumb than ANY event.
All events are retarded lowest common denominator crap.

It doesn't really matter that capes are written by fans, because what else are capes even for if they're not for the fans? You wouldn't get someone who's never read any Sherlock Holmes stories to write Sherlock Holmes.

The problem is that capes are the main entrypoint and the only way to make significant money is through them, though that's becoming less true.

So ALL of comics is just the Big Two and Image shitting the same writers back and forth and neither improves.

The guy is a complete idiot tho

Johns writes every story as an event.

>You wouldn't get someone who's never read any Sherlock Holmes stories to write Sherlock Holmes.
There's a big difference between being familiar with what you're writing than being a fanboy.
None of the best superhero comics were written by fanboys because the best stuff comes from people who have their feet on the superhero genre, but their heads rise above it and see beyond.
Fanboys are too busy sticking their head in the continuity sand in order to suck their own dicks.

>I got rejected from the DC Writer's Workshop again this year
Hush, sweetie. We know.

Johns is a good example of someone that only reads capeshit comics in his freetime, and not every comic just comics he already liked as a kid.

People like Moore or Gaiman love literature, Morrison lately studies indian mythology in his free time. Meanwhile Johns doesn't know the difference between rome and greece.

Comics readers used to be actual nerds, into science, literature and science fiction. Newer writers are just people that liked comics and learned how to write from either blogs or capeshit comics

>People like Moore or Gaiman love literature,
Also drugs and fishrape. So, clearly, the sophisticated choice of those with patrician taste.

Are you insulted? Are you claiming johns isn't ignorant or that he loves books without pictures on them?

>books without pictures
>he posted on Sup Forums
That's some weapons grade stupid you're working there, faggot.

Johnsfags truly have no reading comprehension.

Put it this way: Who is a better filmmaker, Richard Donner or Richard Lester? The answer is Richard Lester. Who is a better filmmaker for a Superman movie? The answer is Richard Donner.

Some people are good at making more personal stuff with depth and some people are good at making blockbuster popcorn entertainment. Johns is basically the Richard Donner of comics (even if Donner wasn't his mentor). That's not the worst thing to be, it just means nobody would want to see him on a more serious project.

Compare Morrison JLA and Johns justice league.

Johns is more Michael Bay at his best. No donner.

>flash
>green lantern
>jsa
>aquaman

Oh jeez look at that! It seems these great runs prove you wrong OP.

>sinestro corps war
>forever evil

OH JEEZ

He's not a great writer by any means but whether you like him or not he contributed more meaningful things to the DCU than any other writer in the past 20 years. He is simple enough to give them his best ideas and best characters instead of keeping them to himself and saving them for his creator owned work, and he's the only writer left in comics who is. Why wouldn't DC love a guy like that and keep him working for them?

You think people who red capeshit are intelligent? They just want boom punching trash and "epic" moments, which is exactly what Johns does

Johns is literately the worst writer in the Big 2
his fans are fucking retarded faggots and should collectively take a long walk off of a short pier

>Implying you can't or shouldn't read litearature just because you like comics
Spoken as a true Johns fan.

The Aquaman meme needs to end. It's barely a decent comic. I will never understand all the hype around it.
And his so great Green Lantern run included garbage like Blackest Night/Brightest Day and the whole retarded "emotional" spectrum, for which half of them aren't even emotions.

Also, are you implying Forever Evil is an example of a good comic?

>more meaningful things to the DCU than any other writer in the past 20 years.
That is because he's been in charge of the DCU for a number of years and he makes his shit meaningful by force. It's all shit and will be forgotten once he goes away.

>The emotional spectrum will be forgotten once he goes away
Surely you don't believe this.

The worst part is that some of them defend blackest night (literally an idea he had as a kid) and flashpoint as some kind of masterpieces.
