What goes on here? It's a large country compared to other European nations, so I'm surprised I don't hear much about it.

Will continue to post more things about the country of Belarus.
Just a Russian satelite state, also size does not mean shit, look at Kazakhstan, it's allmost as big as the entirety of Europe.
this.
vassal of Russia.
Harrison Ford has Belarusian blood.
It is poor shitty dictatorship that has a quality of life on par with African countries
There is nothing worthwhile about Belarus
They do make good tractors however
Basically Russia light, but white.
the most uncucked country in europe
It's a fucking shithole like most of that ex-soviet part of the world. 0 redeeming properties. I go to Minsk once a year on business and it fucking sucks.
Better do what the government tells you kind of dictatorship. And impoverished Russia puppet.
I guess I'm just surprised that they're so quite. I never hear them do anything bad or good. In fact, I'm sure that the average citizen couldn't even point it out on a map.
>only european country with capital punishment
>cheap cigarettes
>cheap alcohol
pretty based if you ask me
If by uncucked you mean poor and lacking any sovereignty, then yes you are right.
Swamps, crumbling Soviet buildings, Russians and a dictator. Literally Eastern Europe: The Meme Country.
Well which is it? What makes either of you state your opinions?
Oh and it has some of the Chernobyl fallout. Almost forgot that.
Why do they not better themselves? The photos of their countrymen look white, why do they live in such a shithole?
it's a dictatorship, the smarter part of youth goes to western europe/baltic states to study and pursue higher degrees. there's no form of organized opposition left. it's a very closed society. the only country they have close ties to is basically russia, of which they're the absolute bottom bitch.
sources: general knowledge and a belarusian co-worker
Just went to check what I already suspected
>Ford's maternal grandparents, Harry Nidelman and Anna Lifschutz, were Jewish immigrants from Minsk, Belarus
rightful Lithuanian clay.
It suffers from chernobyl fallout. Many people have radiation poisoning but dictatorship is covering it up.
Does it have right to bear arms? Is holocaust denial legal (AKA freedom of speech). If it lacks either, not based.
Think of it like this:
+ uncucked, no immigrants
- there are no immigrants because you're a shithole in the first place
>poor and lacking any sovereignty
You faggots are absolutely wrong. It isnt Rich buy life there is pretty alright. Minsk is one of the most /comfy/ cities in Europe tbqh. The people there are incredibly nice and kind. I loved the place.
>worse than Bulgaria
wew,
LADDIE
>landlocked
>too cold for anythin but wheat
>lost in the steppes
I heard they're very heavy drinkers, and i'm not surprised by it.
>uncucked
have you heard of a place known as russia?
are you aware of the russian influence on belarus?
would you inform me, how this constitutes "uncuckedness"?
Almost a century of communism and the unwillingness to let go of said communism
I reccomend you visit.
Thank you based Kraut, that makes perfect sense.
The only question I have is why do they not better themselves? They look white and have a rich culture (from what I have Googled.)
Pic related are the Belarusian youth.
Where the fuck do you get this bullshit you dumb fuck? You dont know shit
You might find it comfy, and that is your opinion, but the facts are that the country is incredibly poor compared to the rest of Europe, even its own ex-commie neighbors (except Ukraine). Also if there is one country in Europe where another country has allmost full control over what happens inside, it's Belarus.
It's very loosely populated, to say the least. The biggest crime is that they've had extremely nice culture and language developing until like 1940's and now most of them think they're Russians.
Russian satelite but some part of this country gravitates towards West. I'd say it's increasingly the case
>ad hominem
No argument
>Explicit holocaust denial
>LEGAL
>Gun ownership
>no idea
Not really. Their dictator is pretty sovereign and often has conflicts with Putin.
>Why?
They have a shitty economy and their corrupt dictatorship isnt helping. Nontheless you dont really see or feel poverty when you're there. Eveyone has cars, houses etc etc. Its a nice place
I dont know, Anons. It looks pretty nice to me.
They are completely apolitical. It's a weird fucking phenomenon, but the people from Belarus seem to not think at all. Their minds are empty. Nothing in there.
I've tried talking politics with a few Belarussians who came here to seek better life and they literally don't know/care about anything related to government that is happening in Belarus and they have no opinion too.
You just stated Belarus is communist. Which is wrong and not an argument either. Clearly you know fuck all.
Looks like Astana only less impressive.
doing their own shit, don't care for the outside world, dictator rules them but they're cool with him, smart maneuwering between EU and Russia, cool people overall.
Because it is nice
>According to a study done by the Belarusian government in 2009, 72% of Belarusians speak
>Russian at home, while Belarusian is used by only 11.9% of Belarusians.
They make some pretty good tractors there. We've had one since 1986 and it's the most reliable tractor in our fleet.
I don't know guys, North Korea looks pretty nice to me.
Lukashenko pls go sleep
It's just semantics. Sure, they aren't communist by definition, but they are one of the most socialist countries in the world.
impoverished shit kickers whine about loss of communism and think that lukaschenka (or however his name is transscribed to english) will someday bring back glorious past ,which never existed in the first place. i think it now lacks the critical mass of people required to actually accomplish major changes to overall policies. overregulation, mediocre infrastructre (for european standards) and a lack of legal security hinder most big developements. although they seem to have a decent programmer scene and some promising companies in the field of IT.
I like those supersized russian hats.
Makes sense . From the pictures I have seen of the country, it looks like an alright place to live.
Also, according to link related, the ethnic population appears to be nearly homogeneous (I put Slavs in the white category).
>comparing North Korea where you're only allowed to see parts of the country to belarus
Just leave you dumb cunt
>why do they not better themselves?
They'd have to accept (((democracy)))
Reality is once the current leader dies they'll probably reintegrate with Russia
lmao this just screams communism
B
I didn't say that at all you dyslexic fatburger. I said they're unwilling to let go of communism. Most of their economy is still state-run. It's literally Venezuela tier.
PRAISE KEK
The thing is, you can cherrypick pictures of any country.
Maybe that's why the country doesn't better itself? All of the citizens (being a socialist nation and all) are just waiting for others to do the work for them?
If you look closely, you can see Gordon Freeman leaving the station.
>is state run
>implying thats because they're "unwilling" to let go of communism
Yeah no. First of all they dont have a choice over whether the country is state run or not. Secondly private enterprise is still a thing there. And thridly just because the state controls most of the economy doesnt make it communist.
BIDF pls leave
Ok. But in North Korea theres nothing to pick. Ive been to Minsk and know that it's pretty nice.
Not argument
The average US citizen couldn't point out china on a map.
Appreciate all the comments and replies, I'm learning a lot from all of you, especially those that post links to back up their claims.
Keep the redpills coming! I never see discussions on this country, so I'll continue to bump with Belarus related images.
Guns can be own if you are hunting.
T. Child who hunted animals in Belarus
It's still 1988 there.
to a large degree it does. communism and socialism share the same important prerequisite of socialized means of production. having a large part of the economy in state hands is pretty much the textbook definiton of "publically owned means of production".
I don't know, maybe. I don't really see how they could be much richer even if it did adopt capitalism fully and the people were hardworking. They're not particularly rich in resources and they're not in the EU, which actually does help a lot for developing countries.
Yeah, I know Minsk is nice. Grodno is nice too.
I just find posting a nice picture as an argument that it's a well-off country is extremely anti-intellectual.
Correct, I believe that makes it Socialist.
Same 11 cars drive around in a loop when a tourist visits.
It's Russia but some of them occasionally speak a language literally invented by the Soviets and somehow this is grounds for independence.
In other words, it's a significantly less cucked version of Ukraine. It's a non-country but it's not a shithole for what it's worth; crime is non-existent and living standards aren't awful.
The average Swedish citizen couldn't protect his wife from refugees.
>All of the citizens (being a socialist nation and all) are just waiting for others to do the work for them?
I haven't followed the intrigue, but they were gonna to implement a punishment for the unemployed.
If you don't work in Belarus you are not only not gonna get the benefits and freegibs, but they'll drag you to the prison.
Entrepreneurship as in small retail business is seen as a Jew-tir job and despised by the people. Basically i don't know what they do in Belarus.
They have the highest rate of alcohol consumption in the world, higher than in Russia.
>I dont know, Anons. It looks pretty nice to me.
Until cops pull over and arrest you for taking photos of monuments
What kinds of guns? Just bolt action rifles and shotguns? And does that also apply to city folk or just those in more rural areas?
Actually there is an Influx of pakis there due to trade deals and student visas.
So of course they tell their shitskin friends to come, and they find out its not quite the soft touch of Europe.
Plus there are many Tatar muslims and gypsys
I understand that people from all over Europe go to Belarus to hunt. It's most of their tourism.
Why would entrepreneurship be frowned upon? Don't they know that the most successful countries on Earth are the ones that move forward through innovation and hard work?
Socialist. Please learn the difference.
It's because of their huge forests.
It's not like guns are illegal in Lithuania or other European countries.
Because socialism. Read a fucking book pleb.
That's dumb as fuck. Why would they stop people from taking photos of monuments?
Socialism doesn't frown upon innovation you fucking plebeian.
All i know you have to have a good reason as to need to gun. (I.E Hunting, or target shooting)
>Just bolt action rifles and shotguns?
handguns shotguns and or rifles, I presume
Do you even know what entrepreneurship means, you mong?
It's more than simply amount of forest. Their gun laws are friendly to hunters.
Notice how Germany is very forested but most Germans would get PTSD if they ever saw a gun.
why is their flag so shit?
Hahahhahahaha
This: You fucktarded american walmartshitter.
Guns for the purpose of hunting are legal in Germany.
Why Russia simply don't annex it?
I don't doubt they are, but I can only imagine the amount of bureaucratic hoops Germans would have to jump through to hunt legally, much less foreigners looking to hunt in Germany.
pic related is their real pre-communism flag. it got banned in 1995 after a referendum that lots of Belarusians are upset about.
there would be literally endless baltic butthurt.
and for other purposes aswell.
Have to get a permit and wait a year
T. Wife is from belarus and last week her father skyped and showed me the saiga he just bought
so what do they use now? if I google belarus flag its all i get
Nice.
1 hoop: hunter's license
And are you really telling me that no license is required for foreigners to operate a firearm in Belarus?
I'm bout to go there, buy some Soviet rifle and have some fun if that's true.
Oh fuck me, my fault boys, really messed that one up. Temporary brainfart.
Do you get all your info from Sup Forums memes? lol. I had a German friend in high school who hunted with an AK-47
Dude, are you bilingual at least?
I've had embarrassing moments like this, but never when using my native language.
