I'm a student living in a large city. With support from my family I can rent a small one room apartment in city centre, and generally make it through the month. It's no luxurious life, but I manage.
The west is still richer but we're catching up, since your economies stagnate and ours slowly develops. The whole "let's catch up with the west" thing has a lot of downsides though, the degeneracy becomes widespread. I had to endure two feminazi protests within a single month. East slavs might be poorer, but at least their people remain sane, and their women remain women.
