Actually, the background check IS the issue. It is pricing out lower income shooters, and with the ban on importation of ammo into CA, the price of ammo is already going to skyrocket. Also, the background check system will not be able to handle all of the checks for ammo. I work at a gun shop, and the current system is already overloaded as is. Finally, background check for ammo won't help anything. Ammo is extremely easy to load yourself, and components are not restricted. Unfortunately, the gun bills that passed back in July is already going to do all of this, so this prop really doesn't matter and is just a dick waving contest between Newsom and De Leon.
