Watchmen and homosexuality

Obviously, Silhouette was explicitly stated to be a lesbian in Watchmen. I also recall some mentions of the possibility of Hooded Justice being gay as well. Now, I have someone telling me it was confirmed that Captain Metropolis was also a faggot and in a relationship with Hooded Justice. Is there anything to even imply this? While I can accept a naked blue man that controls matter in my comic book, I'm having serious difficulty believing that 3 of the 8 Minutemen were homosexuals.

Also, let's talk about homosexuality in general in Watchmen. There seems to be quite a bit of it. Silhouette, the two lesbians on the street corner that got squidded, apparently Captain Metropolis and Hooded Justice, possibly Veidt (must investigate further), and even some retards seem really convinced Rorschach is gay for Nite Owl. Looking back, there's a lot of homosexuality in Watchmen. Is Moore a closet gay or something?

Don't you have to go to school or something?

It is strange that there are three Homos in minutemen.

This is a dumb post, if you didn't read the book you shouldn't be discussing it.

Gee it's almost like Watchmen is from the 80s or something

> Is there anything to even imply this?
If I remember correctly, not in Watchmen itself, but it quite clearly implied in the prequels.
> I'm having serious difficulty believing that 3 of the 8 Minutemen were homosexuals.
>Also, let's talk about homosexuality in general in Watchmen. There seems to be quite a bit of it.
Isn't that kind of the point? It's a suggestion that if you run around at night wearing a latex suit then well, there probably is something at least slightly off about you, perhaps in a sexual way. I'm pretty sure that one of the characters quite clearly states that in Watchmen's written sections, either Mason or Silk Spectre(senior)

>off
There's nothing wrong with faggots.

I just started reading Before Watchmen: Minutemen, and Hooded Justice and Captain Metropolis are definitely doing gay shit in that. As far as I'm aware though, there weren't any hints of Captain Metropolis being gay in Watchmen.

Fuck off nigger, the Minutemen stuff made up like 5% of the actual content of Watchmen, and almost none of it actually happened on panel other than Comedian trying to rape Sally. Hooded Justice was suspected to be gay, but I don't have any recollection about the book ever hinting at Metropolis being gay. Since you clearly know the answer, why don't you fucking tell me instead of acting like a smug cunt? All I'm asking for is evidence in Watchmen that Captain Metropolis is gay.

Not even claiming there is, but you know what I mean
Also, since I have nothing better to do, I find those fragments. They're from "Under the Hood" chapter III, that is, the end of Watchmen's chapter 2:
>"Some of us did it because(...), some of us did it out of a sense of childish exciment and some of us, I think, did it for a kind of excitement that was altogether more adult if perhaps less healthy. They've called us fascists and they've called us perverts and while there's an element of truth in both those accusations(...)"

>"Yes, I daresay some of us did have our sexual hang-ups(...),(Silhouette case) provides proof for those who need it that for some people dressing up in a costume did have its more libidinous elements"

>"Yes, we were crazy, we were kinky(...)"

Also remember that Alan Moore has quite an obsession with sexuality

>As far as I'm aware though, there weren't any hints of Captain Metropolis being gay in Watchmen.
True, but to be honest there is hardly any info about CM in Watchmen. He only appears in this one retrospection in which he doesn't even do that much except for giving a speech and then breaking down when Comedian bullies him and in Sally's retrospection in which he's only in the background. From what I remember the written sections also don't tell us anything about him other than the facts that he's ex-military and the originator of Minutemen.

> only GAYs could possibly write about homosexual relationships.......

When you consider that it's an organisation with a dress code involving a flamboyant costume and tights, it doesn't seem as strange.

>I'm asking for is evidence in Watchmen that Captain Metropolis is gay.
I think Hollis Mason mentions that him and Hooded Justice used to bicker like a married couple or something

>I just started reading Before Watchmen
Why would you EVER do this? I haven't even finished that turd, it's so universally hated and for good reason.

You think hooded ever try to hit on one of his teammates?

Fuck off, some of the series are pretty good. Some of the others, arguably not so much. But Minutemen and Silk Spectre were really solid.

Also there is a section where Nelson is explicitly referee to by Silk Spectres husband as gay (calling him Nellie and CM), outright stating Hooded Justice used to beat up/tortured male hookers, and Silk Spectre outright stating that Sillouette being expelled for on the team was bullshit due to the fact that "we let gay teammates stay on the roster" in reference to HJ and Captain Metropolius

Minutemen make me hate the comedian even more, which I didn't even think could be possible.

Here are all the obvious faggots
>Hooded Justice
>Silhouette
>Ozy
>Probably Captain Metropolis
>Not Rorschach
I'm pretty sure some of the villains were gay too, but I don't remember. wouldn't be surprised if Moloch was.
>Is Moore a closet gay or something?
No. He was just trying to make the Velvet Underground of graphic novels.

What does he do in that?

None of them are worth reading.

Hooded Justice only gets an erection when he beats dudes until they're bruised and bloody, so the only one I ever see him hitting on is Comedian.

Hooded Justice was not only gay but also sadomasochist, it explains why the Comedian tell him he likes making pain.

>gays make up less than 1% of the population
>3 of 8 superheroes were gay

This is all OP is saying, calm down niggers

>faggots
>nothing wrong
pick one

Yeah, it should've been way more.

Let's talk about your obsession with homosexuals first.

watchmen is making fun of how unintentionally gay superheroes are.

>Possibly homosexual. must investigate further.

I might be misremembering it, but didn't Ozy have a gf in his prequel who died of overdose or something, and that's what pushed him into crime fighting?

Oh, and one of the main points of Moloch's arc in Before was his obsession about a teenage crush of his, so nah, he's not gay either. Unless you choose to ignore the prequels, but I still don't remember anything implying his homosexuality in the original

>fag detected

>possibly Veidt (must investigate further)
If you think that this is an indication that he was gay rather than Rorschach being repressed, you're fucking retarded

I cannot even begin to understand your warped and deranged mindset. According to your insane thought process, everyone who has ever called anyone else gay secretly wants to gobble cocks. I don't think Veidt is gay, I was just making a shitty reference to Rorschach's quote, but if you actually think Rorschach is a repressed homosexual because of that line you have severe brain damage.

He frames HJ for murder to the point even Nelson turns on him, then gets him killed and admits he did it all out of petiness.

Don't even get me started on this crap he pulled off in Silk Spectre prequel, I don't remember any comic book that made me feel as legitimately sad as this

Didn't Silk Spectre become a porn star?

[Boys]

The prequel comic confirmed Ozzymandias is bisexual

>[Boys]

that's just Zach Snyder's repression sneaking in

The prequel is about Laurie, not Sally.

Never understood the Rorschach is gay headcanon when it's pretty clear that he's asexual and so traumatized/repulsed by sex that he probably hates his own dick by this point.

This. He surely has deep feelings for Dan, but they're not romantic and definitely not sexual - he's just pretty much the only friend he ever had, or at least as close to that as possible, and he's the only person he could share his "quest" with.

Pretty much. I always saw the handshake between the two as a pretty good example of Rorschach's mental state. He's so unused to affection and closeness that he doesn't know how to properly express himself. It's really sad but also sweet because you're able to see that he's still human, he's not soulless, and he does take the only bond he has left seriously.

I think Rorschach gets humanized a lot toward the end. Another example is when he's retrieving his spare "face", and confronts his landlady. A lot of people for some reason misinterpret this as Rorschach sexually harassing her, when it's made abundantly clear that she lied about that to the press for her 15 minutes of fame. He could have done something horrible to her for slandering him, but he didn't. He's always resented her from the beginning of the book because she's the spitting image of his whore mother, but the way he looks at her kids during that interaction shows that he sees himself in them. I think when she begs him not to let her kids know about the truth, that she fucks men for money, he finds out that maybe she's not as awful as his mother and reserves his judgement of her. Another obvious example is when he pulls Dan off the guys that killed Hollis. I mean, I know there are a bunch of memes of Moore hating Rorschach and not understanding how anyone can like him, but that has to be bullshit. There's no way he wrote such a compelling character, yet sees no redeeming qualities in him.
