I bet £39.40 when Trump was at odds of 5.5, since that bet Trumps odds of winning are getting better so Betfair offer you the chance to cashout now before the result for a small percentage of what you could have won. If you cashout you take back your bet money and the small amount extra and walk away, Trump could still lose and you've made a profit. But he could win and you've lost out on your big winnings

He bet when Trump had smaller odds (less chance of winning according to the bookies) Now he has a higher chance of winning, the bookies are still obliged to pay him the odds he originally made the bet on. The bookies are therefore willing to pay him a small amount on top of his stake to remove the bet.

You can also do this if your odds narrowed, for example if you had £1000 on Bernie to win which you'd placed back when he was 10/1 you'd be offered a cash out of say £2 to cut your losses
